Nah, he'll resort back to being a "dumbo," as you put it, because he's basically inherited the #2 job. That would be awesome if Sicko somehow beat him out.

I really don't think Phillips situation changes anything for Bennett. The kid has the talent it rest on his shoulders to go out and live up to his own potential.

It's not a case of 'bashing, ' it's skepticism brought on by experience. IMO, Bennett showed renewed focus because of Phillips and now that Phillips may be lost for the year - or at least sidelined for a long period of time - I, along with others, question whether Bennett is self-motivated enough to be the player he should be.

I'd let him know exactly how well I thought Phillips was playing...and that he might not keep that second string spot when he gets back. Hell, I'd straight up tell him that he had basically lost his job until Phillips went down...and that he (Bennett) is damn lucky.

I'd also mention that Sicko looks like he's ready to step up...

I'm not buying that "superior athlete, uber talented, powerful blocker" crap anymore. Those clumsy *** guys behind him on the depth chart were blocking pretty damn well (especially Phillips)....AND making plays down field.

I gotta disagree here, CL. What you've just mentioned concerning Tellus and his habits is, at this point, a broken record. Been there, heard that. I'm at the point now where I wonder if he really cares.

No he hasn't. But he was a more than solid third TE. If he's lost for the season it will be felt. It will be a blow to the team. I don't think Bennett is the F/H back that Phillips is. Bennett is a better line blocker.

I really don't get it with Bennett. I'm as hard on problem players when it comes to drugs, violence, and other lawbreaking as anyone. But this guy is guilty of twittering and youtubing like a bazillion other kids, and people act like he's absolutely hopeless.

Anyway, I'm not trying to change peoples' minds. I'll just say that I don't think it's unheard of for a young player to take a couple of years to mature.

I agree. Not all guys mature at the same rate. I'm disappointed in Bennett but I also know the kid has talent and is very capable of getting his game going.

I can agree with this statement. However..............does he care? Seriously. Some guys make it to this level and suddenly realize they just don't want to play football for whatever reason. I just wonder is all. I like the kid and when he puts it to it, he is a baller.
