Not that this post doesn't qualify LOL. Figured my 100th or so post needed to be a thread so here goes.
I am not on board with the rose-tinted crowd, and I'm tired of the vanilla approach.
I will say this, given the teams playing in Seattle next Saturday: I get the feeling that both are quite flawed, and it will probably be a lot closer game than a lot of us think, in spite of the stupid play in December. Yeah Seattle was in the SB, but that was last season: look at Pittsburgh now. I will acknowledge they come in on more of a roll than us (unless you count rolling around in a daze).
It will probably come down to something boneheaded. Whether us (more likely) or them remains to be seen. The danger for us is that some players will try to show so much intensity we may see a reoccurence of the penalties of last week. It may be as simple as blown coverage in that all too common second/third and long when a stop is really needed. Or simply a turnover at the wrong time.
My gut feel is that the Boys will play hard for a change, but still fall short, though I hope I'm wrong and we live to last another week. We're at a disadvantage from an experienced QB standpoint, but being on the road may help, as the recent record there seems to be better, though no better overall. Seattle does lack in the secondary, if the OL will buy Romo time.
Another telling thing: the less the players talk this week, the more likely they play well. The recent meltdowns seem to be prefaced by a lot of sound bites, so the less, the better. Let the bad press do the motivating, since it seems the Big Guy's voice has lost its charm.
This is only my opinion, and some posters may be p***ed, but that's what this place is for. Flame on if it makes you feel better.
I'll be yelling at the TV come Saturday, regardless. Go Cowboys!!
