It's a Good Sign When Old School Cowboys Like Current Players

Yesterday was Jason Hatcher's birthday. Leon Lett and Ed "Too Tall" Jones came to his birthday party.

Three different era DL players together. Something very right about that.

Three different era DL players together. Something very right about that.

It's great. It helps establish a continuity across the eras of Cowboys history, and I would think that the "old" players would talk about what it took to win those Super Bowls, the sacrifices they made to do it, and how the newbies should have pride in the star.

I like it a whole lot better than when Parcells brought old Giants to training camp. That made me throw up in my mouth.

That does say something to me. The show of support is growing from the old school Cowboys. That shows to me they like the direction this team is headed under Garrett. He has that old school approach to things. Plus the players are really buying in also.

Heard he was invited and that he'd actually planned to attend the get-together. Also, last I'd heard Bob Lilly owned a Coors beer distributorship. Upon offering to bring the beer, the others quickly consulted with one another. Coors was immediately rejected, Bob Lilly's offer was therefore refused, and his invitation was revoked.

Beer selection is serious business.

And I love Bob Lilly, so nobody get it twisted. Sarge told me PBR is the only way to go for beer drinkers. Blame him. He put me up to posting this.

Yeah, I never got used to that and really didn't approve of it. If he had brought in old Giant and Cowboys players both then I would have liked it more.

Lett is Hatcher's coach now. He is officially the assistant DL coach this year.
