I know there have been many posts on this board telling us to panic....or not to panic.

If this post needs to be merged with another thread...fine.

I just can't get too excited or too upset after a game like this....not right now.

Last year at this time we were rolling. We looked durn near unbeatable. The Giants and Chargers were looking terrible.

But what happened.....well, we kept playing well....and the Giants and Chargers really came on.

Even late in the season, it looked as if the Giants weren't going to make the postseason.....but they did.

The point is, a lot can happen. You never know what's in store. Our team could start clicking at any moment....like the Chargers or the Giants from last year. We could completely implode. It's impossible to know for sure.

If there's one thing that's a constant in today's NFL (not the NFL from 15 years ago) it's the fact that it's predictably unpredictable.

Let's not get too worked up about how we look. Let's focus right now on results. By the end of the year, we should know more.

Well, FWIW-we didn't look that great through the 1st 5 games either. We made the Giants look like a juggarnaut in wk1(even old-man Amani Toomer was burning our secondary). The Fins were controlling the tempo of the wk2 game until we took the lead and then pulled away at the end. In our wk3 game against the Bears, I actually felt sorry for Grossman b/c his receivers had the bad case of dropsies that night-otherwise, it could have very well been a double digit loss. We caught a Rams team playing a rookie RB from Rutgers, OL coming off the street b/c of injuries, and Bulger had broken ribs-we still struggled against them in the 1st half. And, of course, we needed a miracle to be the Bills the week after.

To me-I feel this team through the 1st 5 has played better than last year's team through the 1st 5.

You're right-it's a long season. I just hope our guys are up to the challenge in Dec.
