That’s what frustrates many of us here. They’ll take a DT like Hankins when he’s on the downside of his career but wont select him in the 2nd round like the Giants did…..they just don’t value this position.

kinda like the Qb position

If you're smart you'll agree with this. Games are won with those big guys. It's time for us to maintain this mode of thinking to have success every season.

Does it appear that Dan Quinn has this in mind and is able to get his guys for the trenches? Will it be the same for the offensive side of the ball?? I can't wait to see, let's get bigger and more physical! The days of guys like Connor Williams being here need to be over, share your thoughts!!
I luv you man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't Connor Williams really good last season? Sounds like a coaching and scheme problem occurred there. As usual they don't get the most from their players despite having the necessary talent.
Definitely need the right coach.

Don't forget, Gurode was a bust until Tuna got here and switched him to C where he was a pro bowler.

I'll add something I have said in other threads: Speed guys tend to not age well. DB's, RB's, etc. The moment they lose a step, they lose their advantages and their performance goes in the toilet. Their second contract frequently turns into an albatross.

Guys dependent on size can keep performing at a high level for much longer. O lineman in particular regularly perform up to their second contract.

As such, if you want to build a team that is going to be competitive year in and year out, put money into the lines. You churn your speed guys and consistently replace them through the draft.

Having dominant big guys along both lines, and an elite defense still wins Superbowl, it always will!! Even if you don’t have a top 10 QB.
