Should we have released Gurode?
Did the Cowboys treat him poorly?
Who will be the 53rd man on the roster?
I don't disrespect anyone who is interested in that. Truth is, it's these kinds of topics that we all talk about most of the time on a board like this. (And it is what makes it so much fun and so enjoyable)
What if scenarios, predictions, someone is great and someone is lousy...
We are only a little while away from when all the noise will go away and we will find out exactly what we have. The regular season opener will be here.
We won't care who #53 was, because he will barely see the field, if he is not on special teams.
We won't remember Gurode, unless the center position eats our lunch.
All of our predictions will be forgotten except for those who get it right and they (or we) will proclaim from the football mountain tops how much football they (or we) know.
The opinions about who is lousy or who is great won't ever change... you will still think they are lousy and someone else will still think they are great REGARDLESS of what the performance actually indicates.
This is the most miserable time of the preseason for me. We have a dead game on Thursday.... and then 10 days of waiting.
Then the noise stops (at least for awhile) and we actually get to the real deal, the games that count.
I can't wait.
