It's amazing that all of our starting skill players on Offense are under 30

30 years old.

So, that includes Roy Williams, Austin, Crayton at WR (our top 3).

At RB, that includes all 3 of our guys (who ever gets the start).

At TE, that includes both Witten and Burnett.

And Romo, of course.

That's pretty impressive, IMO.

Now we need to start adding some quality olineman in the draft. That's where BP really screwed us IMO. He can't draft lineman for ****.

If we can get the O-Line more talented and younger now as well then we'd be in great shape offensively for a long while.

And show me where Jerruh has done any better? You want to blame BP and thats fine but we have stunk for years drafting OL. The ONLY two in the last 12 years that were really good are Gurode and the Hotel. EVERY OTHER ONE we have drafted has either been a JAG like Al Johnson or a joke like so many others. Peterman is the only one we have drafted that is still starting and that is for the worst team in the league. Even there BP did better then Jerruh and Wade so far. Free is looking like another loss and Marten is already gone and if WADE ONE MORE TIME PRAISES PROCTOR HE IS A DEAD MAN!!!!!!

Larry Allen was pretty good.

I agree though. It's a joke.

This draft is going to help that number. We have 11 picks. It wouldn't bother me one big if we went strictly ILB/NT/DE/WR/T BPA through the entire draft.

I just wish we had a more imposing head coach when they arrived to camp. Not even imposing, just respected.

And far less impressive that all of our starting OL are over 30.

Our OL is a disaster waiting to happen.

We have fared poorly in drafting O-linemen, but as far as age, some of them don't come into their own until they are 30 or older. You need to develop them over the years, which makes our futility in drafting in that area even more troublesome. In fairness, guys like Free and Marten looked like awfully good choices at the time.

We'll draft a couple OL this year, and other than Flo, the remaining starting OL should be fine for the next 3 years or so.

JJ's history of drafting lineman since Jimmy left

1996
Clay Shiver
1997
Steve Scifres
1998
Flozell Adams
Oliver Ross
1999
Solomon Page
Kelvin Garmon
2000
0
2001
Matt Lehr
Char-ron Dorsey
2002
Andre Gurode

That's 9 in 7 years with 2 pro bowlers still starting.

BP's drafted oline
2003
Al Johnson
Justin Bates
2004
Jacob Rogers
Stephen Peterman
2005
Rob Petitti
2006
Pat McQuistan
E.J. Whitley

That's 7 in 4 years with only 1 starter that got beat out by AG.

WP and JJ's drafted oline
2007
James Marten
Doug Free
2008
0

That's 2 - 1 bust 1 jury's still out.

I rest my case. In 4 years with 7 oline drafted by BP not 1 player is or was worth a damn.

Both of their records are abysmal.

To me, a "pro bowler" is someone who plays consistently at that level, not someone who has one good year and gets in because of that. Neither Flozell nor especially Gurode has consistently played at a high level. 2 good lineman in 10 drafts is hardly a glittering record for Jones.

Not that Parcells was successful in drafting OL either. Rogers would be the worst pick of the Parcells era were it not for Bobby Carpenter.
