I think you know what you have with McGee by now. Unsure in his execution which results in everything being a split second late in the delivery. Can he hold a clipboard, yes, can he make the occasional good throw yes. Can he lead a team and inspire confidence no. The good thing this year is we probably have the best backup in the league in Orton.

I'd much rather keep a young unproven stud that might be a difference maker then someone who pretty much has proven he's not. I think one of these outside pass rushers or even Dunbar who has a bit of a younger Felix Jones in him might be more valued added then McGee at this point.

In summary, he's done IMO because I'm not sure long term Rudy Carpenter won't be better and because Rudy can be added to the Practice Squad and McGee can't.

Ok, now I'll set back and get lit up.

I had a glimmer of hope McGee would pan out but now looking at the potential roster, I take Coale,Adrian Hamilton or even Mana Silva over McGee

Just another failed pick from the horrendous 2009 draft. If you look at that year though, it was very top heavy. I can't think of anyone else I wanted in that round, a QB was a good roll of the dice. He's just not very good.

Trading for Roy completely screwed up that draft for us. If we'd have had a 1st rounder it would have been hard NOT to end up with a quality player. Without a 1st and 2nd, there just wasn't much talent otherwise.

Yeah. Sift through the cuts and pick up a practice squad QB.

Dunbar looked awesome last night, and he could be a return guy, but can we afford to go 4 deep at Rb and keep a FB as well?

It's like he is so afraid of making a bad play that he doesn't even try. He has no confidence in his reads or his arm.

Sorry, but Bye, Bye!

I think even he knows it. what can you do Dallas gave him a shot and he didnt take it.

And of course Jerry opens his mouth last night and raves about how well he played and that other teams are interested in McGee. Give me a break. The guy has showed zero improvement since drafted.

If he can be a quality return guy we can... ST is going to be the key for many of these guys... and we need a return guy...

Dez is great on punt returns, but I have always shyed away from starters being return guys...

It's very hard to watch McGee play QB.
He just flat-out hold the ball toolong. Drives me nuts.
He had possible TDs to both Ogletree and Harris last night if he had gotten rid of the ball at the right time.

McGee needs to go somewhere that runs a timing based offense, 3 step drop ball gone, 5 step drop ball gone... Take some of the thinking away and let him use his arm.

There will be a QB to land on the practice squad as good as McGee.

Someone may be able to develope him, doubt it.

Looks like a backup very shaky game play, think a QB in next years Draft is a far better option.

Carpenter looks much more comfortable and has the look of a QB. He is worth practice squad. But is he eligible?

McGee...no one is going to pick him up. He's got his 3-4 yrs in the league. Done.

Cowboys are looking to deal McGee

I hope they deal him a couple of aces. No one is going to give us anything for him knowing that he will be cut.

He finally started pushing the ball downfield in the second quarter. This is what he's needed to be doing all along.

Even doing that well, he's a developmental guy. Good speed, good movement in the pocket, good arm. Slow processing information going into his fourth season and slow because he's worried about making a mistake with the football.

Two Aggie quarterbacks started last night's game.

That is the truest indication that you're watching a meaningless preseason game, right there.

That made me laugh for some reason...:laugh2:

aTm isn't exactly known as QBU... although there have been some quality pro players come out of that program...
