It's Bruce Carter's Time

orie lemon will start. This guy is an absolute beast. He just makes plays , give him a fair chance and he'll beat our anyone.

Love this guy but he appears to be too slow in coverage. You can't even hide these guys by making them a two down back anymore. They will just throw it at a mismatch even in a running down. But if I had to play him it would be at the Sam.

I'd move Durant to Mike, leave Carter at the Will, and play Holloman at the Sam. Hitchens is a Mike right now. He needs to learn one spot if you want him to be able to contribute this year. You could also play Holloman at the Mike and leave Carter and Durant where they are. This is what I'd look for. Lot's of possibilities including Wilbur in the mix.

For some reason, Bruce Carter seems to play better with Lee out.

I believe it's a focus thing. Some players play better when they are forced to be the QB on the field. Suddenly, it's on them to know the defense like the back of their hand, to be the guy who recognizes what the offense does and calls it out.

I think Carter showed a couple of years ago that that kind of stuff brings out the best in him, and if Dallas makes him the MLB, I predict that when Lee comes back, Carter will remain the MLB (not because he's better than Lee, but simply because Carter and MLB and Lee at WLB is a stronger combination).

What is going to be even more crucial now going forward is the Dline pass rush. The gints pass rush during their superbowl runs masked a bunch of no names and someones leftover garbage at the LB position.

As far as Lee, someone texted me about his injury. When I saw it I wanted to throw up, punch something and then take a whack at something with a bat. Just unbelieveable. I think the FO needs to dismiss the thought of Lee as a starter, period. The mindset should be to find the next starting MLB for this team and if/when Lee is able to play again you welcome him back in a rotational role or something where he has to prove he can overtake said starting MLB. Hell, his contract is incentive laden anyway. I know that won't happen though.

Love Lee to death but he just cannot stay on the field and it really blankety blanks me off.

That's pretty much the problem, Lee will always beat out anybody he has to compete with for MLB. Just a matter of how long he'll be available to play. His injuries have all been really unfortunate. He goes 110% all the time. That's a pretty typical acl injury, plant foot sticks on change of direction. Hate it for him and the Cowboys, but good luck on the recovery and see you in 2015. Stay strong.

I would definitely give Carter a shot at MLB. He's proven he can backup Lee in the past, albeit in a different system. Another year in and the added responsibility could spark Carter.

I think this is a big oppertunity for Carter to come in and take charge in the LB core and play to his ability. If not he likely will be gone after this season.

I'm down on carter from last year but here's his shot. If im not mistaken this is his contract year so he might pull a hatcher and ball out of nowhere.

Move Carter to MLB, let Wilber and Holloman fight it out at the SAM, and let Hitchens and Durant compete at the WILL.

Carter's in a contract year, he knows he has to perform well, and he's the best man for the job, IMO.

I think because it's so early, they're going to throw Hitchens to the wolves and see if can hang in there.

I would be curious to see if Carter could move back inside with success. He sure looked good as an ILB in the 3-4, but this is very different.
The first thing I thought of was that in the Mike in Marinelli's scheme, it's required to be able to cover shallow center field some. That would be in addition to calling the sets and being a real student of the game. I think he'd be fine in run support in that role.

If we're giving up on Carter, we might as well have traded him for a late rounder before the draft since this is the last year he'll be under contract.

But we didn't. So might as well start supporting him.

I like Holloman. He played ok vs the Eagles last year. Bruce Carter looked all world in 2012. My biggest problem with him last year was his effort. He acted and played like he didnt give a damn. You could hear it in Marinelli's comments form a couple weeks back. You cant coach a dog. I hope he bounces back and proves me wrong.

I would go with carter at mike. He's in a contract year and Dallas has the most invested in him than any other linebacker. He's got the athleticism in pass coverage.

Unless someone beats him out. Whoever the best man in camp is, roll with him.

Carter is a great athlete but an average football player, he is not the answer.

Scary thing is you are right. Let's see if he is up 2 the challenge
