Ive been on the Tnew bandwagon since his rookie year, but this year Ive been on the Kenyon Coleman sucks bandwagon even more. Its not a coincedence that our best defensive efforts have been on his inactive days. He serves no purpose on defense with Ratliff, Spears, and Canty coming on. I want to see him gone just as bad as Nors wants Singleton gone. ATrain your next, then Reeves or Jones.

Jones???? who are you referring to? BTW, you are ery right about Coleman, but depth is very important as well, and we arent paying him a whole lot, so we maight as wewll keep him for now just to have some more depth, its not like we'll get anything for him........

This is where I disagree. Just because he doesn't cost much is not a reason to keep him. Hell, Id suit up for 300,000 less just to play for the Boys, but I doubt they would keep me because Im cheap. He holds the progress of guys like Ratliff and Johnson by just being on the team. He takes reps from them in practice and some on game day. Id much rather see Peterman active than Coleman anyday for OL depth.

I've got no problem with the young corners. They contribute.

Coleman has a purpose in this league, and someone will pick him up. As it is, he's nice depth to have. Meanwhile, the younger, better players are getting his reps. No problem.

It's the same thing with A-Train. It doesn't hurt the team on the field to sit him, but the day may come that you need him. I'm sure those players don't like it though.

JOnes and Reeves make plays on ST. Plus they when they are in their roles, backups and ST Players, rather than starters, tehy do just fine.

What do you have against Reeves and Jones? We know nothing of these players because they are back ups. They contribute on special teams. Hopefully they are learning while watching Henry, Newman and Glenn.

I'd like to see more of Pepper Johnson if we're giving Coleman's spot away. I don't want to lose Pepper if someone claims him. It'd be a really nice development if he could become a DT plugger in the middle, and a really cheap one. Fergi and Glover are getting up there in age and it'd be nice to be grooming their successors.
I liked what I saw of Pepper in the preseason.

We can't have Pro Bowl starters at every position. There are role players and we that's how we keep our salary cap intact. Reeves and Jones aren't super stars, but they know they're place and they serve a role ... for cheap.

We can't have 6 Deion Sanders in the 2ndary ... heck, we can't even afford ONE Deion Sanders.

I don't have anything against either one of them, but they are the same player IMO. You have two guys that do the exact same thing and neither one of them can crack any of our defensive packages. Id prefer to let one guy shine on STs with Copper and let the other sit while we bring up an OLman or DLman. I know BP loves Sts teams guy, but has either or both of them really stood out on STs that we need both doing the exact same thing. If you have read any of my post in the past on this situation, Im not advocating that we get rid of them this year, but by next off-season. However it is time for Coleman and ATrain to go this year. Singleton took care of himself with his unfortunate injury. Hope he recovers well enuff to play again, but just for another team.

I agree with you on Jones, but Reeves is our starting gunner and has done an excellent job there all year long. He'll also be our first corner off the bench if Henry can't go. If he's not healed in two weeks, I wouldn't be surprised to see Newman and Glenn start, with Newman going into the slot and Reeves playing RCB in the nickel.

Reeves is pretty big and fast for a corner, and IMO was a very nice pick in the seventh. Jones? Well, not so much. :)

I don't know...Newman has Deion-like speed, plus he can tackle. So far he has shut down his side of the field like Deion did when he was in Dallas, he just doesn't get the reputation of Deion because he isn't flamboyant and doesn't get picks because nobody throws to his side.
