The month of December harbors no magical or mystical powers.

Interestingly enough, the Cowboys have a similar losing trend in late games on Fox and CBS -- they're 2-4 this season, earning one of those victories against the woeful Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving. In fact, if we deduct their annual Thanksgiving patsy, the Cowboys have won only three 3 PM games dating back to last season.

So, what's the commonality between late games and December?

Quality of opposition.

The late games are generally marquee matchups, featuring contests between the NFL's better teams. And in recent years, the Cowboys' December schedule has featured a number of quality opponents.

Here's the good news: The Cowboys aren't cursed.

Here's the bad news: They simply aren't very good.

isn't their record at night pretty good and usually those are against good teams too.

This season, the Cowboys are 2-1 at night; however, one of those victories came against the Panthers.

what was it last year, you used last year for 3:15 games so it is only fair to look at night last year too.

Feel free to look at the Cowboys' record at night last year. I certainly won't be offended.

I'm simply pointing out that our December woes likely stem from the quality of opposition...unless you believe in curses.

could of thrown JJ into the mix he's been the one constant.

Yes. He has been...but I've done enough complaining about that particular aspect.

Good post.

Kinda like everybody saying we have an Aikman/Buck curse because we always lose the games those two announce.

Now it it really a curse or could it be that they are the #1 broadcast team on FOX and as such announce the games with the best matchups??? So the reason we lose when they are announcing is because we are playing quality opponents.
