Sure he is the focal point of a play that could have put us ahead.

But even if the hold and kick are good we're only up 2 and Seattle has 1:00+ to get in position for their own field goal.

I have little faith that our defense would have stopped Seattle from getting into position to win the game on their own field goal.

Our best chance by far, was to get that 1st down on Wittens catch and run more time off before a winning score. But I can't fault Witten there either as the Seattle D made a GREAT tackle to stop his bull rush towards the 1st down.

Agreed! The media has made most of the mindless fans think that their was only 2 seconds on the clock left or that it was OT , I mean the hawks would have still had over a minute to get down the field and we all know how good josh brown is in those situations.

Either way while im dissapointed, I feel Tony didnt give us a chance to win the game as a "holder" . But as a QB he played well enough to win.

Tony is a fine young man with as much heart as I have ever seen in a player. I would be willing to bet there are a lot more good days ahead for him than bad. :starspin

Hope so. He sure had his ups and downs, but without him we don't even make the playoffs.

I was a little disappointed to see him taking it so hard last night. Fine line between accepting responsibility and letting it crush you.

I feel better about our QB situation than I have in a long time. I think we need 3 on the roster, not 2. I think he shouldn't be the FG and PAT holder any more, and no it isn't because of last night. I think it is a risk with your starter.

I'd like to see us draft a QB to groom so we're never in a drought again.

I don't think Bledsoe is back which means a Vet option would help. Please don't let that Vet be Vinny. If they want him that bad hire him as the QB coach. Maybe he can help Tony again.

It was his first year in the saddle. There are going to be rough rides. He's fiery enough to make the whistle. He just needs to Cowboy up.

I think he will.

It's just like the 100 million people that think "The Catch" was the last play of the game. The perception will never change.

Well, based on that philosophy, Tony Romo should be one strong mofo from here on out.;)

It never is.

Face it, we'd have WON the game last night if Romo had just focused a little harder and gotten that *** snap down.

The guy played fairly poorly the last 6 games, and everyone excuses it away. Then he actually FUMBLES AWAY OUR CHANCE TO WIN and people STILL excuse it away! Amazing.

The fumble was a fluke thing. Playing like *** for three quarters wasn't. I am thrilled with having this guy at QB, but he's put like one complete game together all season. The defense played it's heart out and eventually Seattle got a great matchup with Stevens against James. They got Tony short fields and he did nothing with them except chunk the ball in the ground and overthrow people. I don't give McNabb a pass on that and Tony shouldn't get one either.

But it's his first year. The future's so bright....

:hammer:

Like I said, if I had a dollar for every ball he threw towards the ground I would be rich as rich as Jerry.

Next year he has really got to work on his awareness in the pocket, it would have spelled disaster if Julius wouldnt have dived on the fumble he lost.

Romo had a Quincy Carter/Hutch Type game minus the Turnovers.

It is amazing. It is the first time I remember that people blame the defense for poor play at the QB position.

In this case, they are withholding blame of a fumble because their opinion is that the defense would have blown the game later.

That is a must every year with a day 2 pick. You never know who you will get.

I am of the opinion that Tony Romo clearly showed he isn't the OMG WOW franchise QB that people were thinking of after his first few games by the way he played for an entire month + to close out the season. Is he a flash in the pan and is he REALLY this bad? Is THIS the real Romo after all? Probably not, but I think its pretty apparent he's not Brett Farve, Troy Aikman, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, etc. And before some throws the "He's just young, he's essentially a rookie!" out there....BS. He's been in the league for FOUR years now. The guy is what he is. He's good enough to start, and might be good enough to take us where we need to go given the right team and circumstances, but I'm sick and tired of fielding trash and projects at the QB position. Go out and DRAFT a potential franchise QB. Stop trying to strike gold, Jerry, because if it doesnt work out you are screwed at the position for 3 years. At least Romo is competent, which is more than I can say for QBall, Hutchless, Wright, Leaf, Banks.... so lets take advantage of having a competent starter and go out and get and GROOM a franchise QB. If Romo all of a sudden turns into awesome, then we've got a nice chip to trade. Otherwise, we can keep Romo around and if the kid develops, we can hand the reigns to him. It worked out pretty well for the chargers.
