BREAKING NEWS It's official: Cowboys vs Eagles in NFL Opener

I remember that game. Deuce Staley if I recall went wild. Who knows maybe our Deuce will go wild this time.
Our Deuce is not likely to be on the roster. We better hope one of the backs we drafted in April are a big part of our running game. If we can’t run the ball against Philly we’re going to be in big trouble. Dak will have little chance facing Philly’s pass rush all night.

The last time the Cowboys faced Philly in the season opener was when Campo made his rookie head coaching debut in 2000. The Cowboys got destroyed in what was known as the pickle juice game.
Eagles rushed for 300 yards. Jerry's big offseason prize Joey Galloway tore his ACL and Aikman got knocked around pretty good before having to leave the game with a concussion. Complete disaster.....

This game could come down to which team is the healthiest going into the season.

There are the preseason injuries, the previous season rehabilitations and, of course, the "surprise" injuries to the O-line two days before the game. It's a tradition now.

Better to get it done in September than December when it's getting cold.
No doubt, I'm sure the NFL is licking their chops on the ratings bonanza it will bring plus the rabid eagles fans want this more than anything... Sure would be wonderful to send them home stunned and doubting their season :p

Or load the box to stop the run and force SleepNumber to beat you.
Either way.
So yeah, Dak versus Fangio.
Not a matchup I find in Dallas's favor at all.
Yeah, i was going to say load the box but… To stop who? Lol Dallas doesn’t even have a running game.

Big stats from facing weak teams and playing against prevent defenses, and a back pocket full of money.
Just wait; when he crashes and burns this season and next season, his fans will be demanding he be enshrined in the Ring of Honor, his number retired, and the Hall of Fame in five years because of his stats.
His number should be retired after he's gone. The Cowboys should never want to see #4 on the field again after the way he's hurt the team.
Don't retire the number, that's too easily seen as an honor, an honor that Dak doesn't deserve. Take #12 for example - no one in Dallas will ever wear that number again, and rightfully so. Spit in Dak's face by giving the # to a punter when he's gone. And then insult Dak even more by getting the MVP voters to give the punter three 2nd place votes

Hopefully they don’t rush for 300 yards this time around. Real concerned about our DL. We better hope one of the DT’s we drafted steps up.

what a great way to start the year a loss on primetime football again. seems like a yearly event for the cowboys.

I was at that game. Luckily I had seats in the shade as it was 109 degrees and those in the sun were dropping like the Cowboys were on the field. Just a horrible opening day from the disasterous onside kick to start the game.

After giving up 2 1st round picks then lost Galloway for the year during his first game. Don’t forget the onside kick to open up the game. Game was over at that point.
