It's "Purple Friday" on KFAN in Minnesota

If I did not know better, I would say they are scared. In fact, petrified. This is like an entire fanbase and team strumming their air guitars getting ready to storm the plexiglass and scream like a woman.

:laugh2: Whistling past the graveyard.

Wow, who was the Viking who said he had all his guns, his uzi, his clips, his everything out for this game?

Imagine if, say, Jay Ratliff had said that...

Looks like KFAN is going to "mix and mingle" with the Michael Irvin Show at some point today.

If I am not at lunch, I will try to give a recap.

That is going to be interesting.

They just quoted Brad Childress as saying Barber is "the best RB in the NFL at picking up the blitz."

It is a shame that some of our fans don't respect the intangible parts of the game and can only look at stats.

Gruden on MNF said he used to show his RB's tapes of MB3 when teaching blitz pickup.

I remember Jon Gruden saying something like that when we played the Panthers in week 3 I believe.

It won't mean much Sunday since Minnesota doesn't blitz a ton. Felix should be in on 3rd downs.

Doh !

For anyone interested in listening over the Internet, KFAN talking Vikings all day it appears because it is "Purple Friday"..

http://www.kfan.com/main.html

BTW, radio host Paul Allen was just on the radio and he said certain "loquacious" players were told to tone down the trash talking.

The hosts are saying that the Vikings are going to target Orlando Scandrick and have quite a bit of success.

Will Sunday be "Pink Sunday"? Nah, probably Black Sunday for them!

Well, since the Vikings don't blitz that much and Barber may not play that much. That really isn't a huge issue come Sunday. :)

What I would like to see is a full mix of all three backs in the game. I want to see Barber return to his barbarian status. Especially since this is his return to Minnesota. I want to see Felix slash them like a hot knife through butter, and Choice use his ability to ping pong right through the gut of their defense.

Give me 160+ rushing yards and Romo light them up for at least 5-7 20+ yard passing plays. :)

How about Ratliff crush Favre like he did Jason Campbell? Campbell got up, I'm not sure Favre would. :laugh2:

How convenient the hosts are forgetting how the Vikings were the sexy and trendy pick all season based off the wave they rode following both Green Bay games.

Then they were wiped out versus Arizona and Carolina and were embarassingly ugly against the juggernaut Bears. So what is supposed to be done? Forget that and remember Green Bay fondly and put that sham Giants game back at the forefront?

What annoys me about the local reaction in Minnesota is that they have very selective memories. Whether they like it or not, the Cowboys are hot. Dallas might not win and they might be correct, but do not insult everyone's intelligence and try to pretend that the Cowboys are not the team with the most momentum in the tournament outside of San Diego.

If I did not know better, I would say they are scared. In fact, petrified. This is like an entire fanbase and team strumming their air guitars getting ready to storm the plexiglass and scream like a woman.

...the same thing is happening in New Orleans...perceived disrespect though the team lost three straight to end the season...both Minnesota and New Orleans were on the tips of everyone's tongue nationally before they both did the backslide through December...the title game was all but a foregone conclusion, you can imagine the compensation that is going on now that things did'nt exactly proceed according to plan...other teams felt then what they are feeling now...but should it even really matter?...who better to prove yourself to than the man next to you on the battlefield?...who else can understand the struggle?...we sometimes lose sight of the fact that guys like Woodson, Dukes, Baldinger, Schlereth, Long, Strahan, Bradshaw, Jaworski, and yes the notorious Ed Werder get paid to put up opinions and analysis and whether on orders or not it might be distasteful at times...everyone wants a piece of the Cowboys because they're an easy sell and that is the curse of being "America's Team"...it always amuses me how teams like Minnesota and the Saints seek to pick up the mantle but they don't realize what carrying that thing means...it's both a blessing and a curse...losses are excruciating and wins are breathless elation...there's no in between for a Cowboys fan...the franchise is histrionic by nature, a smorgasboard of great players, great games, and even greater seasons...

That was Scandrick I think that almost broke Campbell in half.
