It's showtime
Staff writer Charean Williams gets NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler to break down seven players who have a lot to prove at the Scouting Combine this week in Indianapolis:
DE Robert Quinn, North Carolina. An NCAA suspension cost Quinn his 2010 season after a remarkable sophomore season in 2009 (52 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 6 forced fumbles). Without any 2010 game tape, the combine is imperative for his draft stock. If he tests in-shape, passes the medical evaluation (also important because of a brain tumor he had surgically removed while in high school), and interviews well, then Quinn has top-10 potential in the mold of DeMarcus Ware.
CB Prince Amukamara, Nebraska. His technique, fluidity and cover instincts to be a shutdown starter in the NFL aren't in question. But there are some concerns about his long-speed, so his 40-yard dash could either cement his value in the top 15 or push him down some boards.
