How a team can be winning, having on of the best years in a long time, but fans cry and whine about who should be "Starting"
Let's examine this "starting" thing
Starter == Someone who starts the game
Now In this "starting" role, the player recives the majority of play time, in some instances all (QB), or less (WR/RB).
When it comes to QB having a "starter" is the most important thing, because this player is the ignition to the entire offense, and plays every snap, and has the ball in his hands every offensive play.
When it comes to the LT,LG,C,RG,RT is equally as important to have a "starter" because they need to be cohseive, and understanding of each other, so they can be as effective as possible. Not to mention understanding of blocking sheme
But after that, it becomes Mush
Having a "starting" RB or WR is meaningless in today's NFL, because of the ability to have depth, and the abilty to create mismatches. Having a every down RB, or WR, is rare, as most teams like to keep players fresh for teh end of the season, and also to minmize the ability to get injured.
So bringing this situation to the dallascowboys:
We are constantly saying who should be "Starting" RB. But in the end, does it matter?
Over the last few games, Barber has been continuially getting more carries, as a result of his good play. Does it matter that he is on the field at the start of the game, or would rather him be on the field fresh legged, at the end of the game. To run the ball down the opppents throat at the end of the game (See Falcons Game)
As Fans, i think we have many more things to argue, and complain about, then who should be "Starting" at such a insigfacnt postion as RB. Who starts there does not really matter. Because in the end. Its who you have at the end of the game, to pound the enemy into submission that really matters.
but feel free to discuss this as You may
