Now I am not giving BP a total bye here; going for 2 that early in the game is VERY questionable, as well as NOT challenging the safety. But this game was lost by the following players: Kosier on the last face mask; whoever screwed up on the blocking on the FG; TO dropping a TD pass; Roy messing up on that PI; Henry screwing up; Witten screwing up; and so on. I challenge anyone to say that BP is not a discipinarian coach who does not stress the fundamentals. So to me its clear. This is on the players- they have the FINAL responsibility to perform on the field. All these mistakes, etc are FUNDAMENTAL type mistakes that ALL THESE players should know by heart by now. I refuse to think that they have not been taught the right way to tackle, block, catch passes. I refuse to think that they do not know NOT TO CAUSE PENALTIES. It all comes down to the players not doing what they know how to do.
Old John McKay joke back when the Bucs were stinking it up. At a press confereence after another bad loss he was asked by a reporter:
"What do you think of your teams execution?" Mckay thinks for a moment.
then says Mckay " I am in favor of it."

Agreed. It IS the players, and specifically THE player.

But I'm not going to insult everyone.

I will not put Romo on that list; but who else did NOT screw up yesterday?

THAT is the point. Blaming the coaches when players make mistakes that no player should make- again and again. That makes no sense. TOO MANY are trying to blame the coaches when the simple fact is that the players are not performing as anyone would reasonably expect.

Dumb players do dumb things.

11 penalties for 153, dropping a would be TD to extend the lead to 14 and poor blocking from the FG unit is what cost Dallas this game. What is aggravating is having the win 35 yards away only to see it vanish

Wasn't I reading around here that Bledsoe was the only problem this team had? It goes much deeper than the QB position.:storm:

Yeah, it's stupid players and we sure do have plenty of them as others have noted above.

What is practice for except to drill it into the players to do certain things without thinking about it. We practice as much as anyone else in the league; its not on exotic plays or anything weird. Straightforward repetition. So to me trying to blame the coaches is a joke. Its the players that are making FUNDAMENTAL mistakes that PROS should not be making. Its on them.

I agree. I saw nothing wrong with the game plan. I felt we were aggressive in the play calling. Players committing stupid fouls is on them not the coach. Only thing a coach can do is start benching some guys

No, most just said that Bledsoe was a big problem not the only problem. I think Dallas would have struggled greatly if Bledsoe was back in the pocket yesterday and the game would not have been close.

Parcells has a hand in every personnel decision that goes on with his football team. There is no running from the responsibity he must shoulder for that. The guys that take the field are the players he drafted, he coaches, and he lets suit up and take the field.

The players are culpable as well but Parcells doesn't just get to be "the genius" when things go well and then when they don't it's "just the players faults". He more than any other single figure is responsible for the product that is put out on that football field come Sunday.

I'm not one of the guys who want to see him leave now don't get me wrong, he's still a great football coach in my eyes. But he certainly isn't doing a great job of coaching these guys right now.
