This is the time of the year when the Cowboys begin sending out contracts to our 6 2008 draft picks. Can't believe we finally close to TC & to the season to begin. Thank God. Anyway, if last year & previous years holds true, by the end of this week we'll probably sign at least 1 2nd day pick with 2-3 more picks signed by July 22nd. Given how late both Felix Jones & Jenkins were drafted in the first round, I really don't expect any of our picks to hold out so all should be on the plane flying out on July 24th to Oxnard. If I had a guess which player(s) signs first, it would be either Tashard Choice or Welden (sp?) followed by Scandrick & then Bennett or Felix Jones with Jenkins coming in last.

I just can't wait for TC to begin. Not only do I want to see how much above players can contribute, I also want to see how much Tank Johnson & Hatcher have improved along what Carpenter is doing. Finally, I really want to see if Austin, Stanback & Hurd have really stepped up their game and if at least 1 of them can make a significant contribute to our passing game. Finally also want to see how Free is doing along with McQuistan as I see both of them as successors to Adams & Colombo unless bringing in Kerkerkkerker (sp?) was more then just camp folder.

The stories I am anxious to see this week and next will be Hamlin and Glenn situations figuring themselves out and the signings of the rookies.

No holdouts.

Does the July 15th date hold the same ramifications for Canty as they do Hamlin? Canty signed his tender so am I right in thinking we can sign him to a long term deal anytime this season?

You are correct. Hamlin is the only player bound by the Tuesday deadline.

I'd like to see what happens with the Hamlin deal. Looks like he'll likely sign his tender and play for the 1 year deal by the deadline since I haven't heard anything about a long term deal being anywhere close.
