Theres gotta be someone better at kicking than him.. ****, I've played soccer all my life and i'm pretty sure it can't be much different to kicking a pigskin... someone in the Metroplex can kick field goals better than "it wasn't me" Cortez.

Someone on this site said he would cost us games... he hasn't disapointed in that respect.

I hate the way Cortez is always blaming other players. I mean, right there on the field during the game! Dude, if you really must point fingers and all that at least do it in the locker room! When he missed that one yesterday and gestured towards Romo as if to say "Dude, you screwed up the hold. How am I supposed to kick it with that crappy hold?" that was it. I'd cut him and bring in a guy grateful to be on the team.

So who do you want kicking then, maybe we out to let Rivera try it? I saw an Eagles lineman kick once!

I think we're just waiting for the Eagles(or Commanders) to make a cut once their starting K returns. Or maybe Cundiff returns. The situation should be resolved during the bye week.

Hmmmm... I seem to remember having the Commanders kicker on our team at one point, but we let him go. :bang2:

It's also tough to see a guy who was available at one point -- Paul Edinger -- make a 56 yard game-winner yesterday.

Or how about Todd France? This guy had a great preseason for the Bucs, and only narrowly lost the kicking job to Bryant.

I'd like to know what happened on Sep 6 when the Cowboys worked out France, and decided Cortez was the better option.

Yes, another great move by Parcells. Attempt to play ball control offense with possibly the worst kicker in the world. Way to go, Parcells. I applaud thee.

Actually, there were a number of us here who thought Cortez would contribute, if not be directly responsible for up to 2 or more losses this season. The kick-off out of bounds yesterday and the missed 29-yd chippie might do the trick and get him gone. But alas, someone here said the 29 yd miss was partially blocked by Seattle. At some point 'Cortez the killer' has to be held accountable, one of Parcells' prime requisites for players.

At this point, I'm so desperate for a kicking game, I would be willing to see what McBriar could do. The dude is crazy good at punting, and I'd be interested to see if he could adapt his game to kicking, too.

I'm sure he'd be better than Cortez.

Tass was dead on. You dont want a guy who is always looking to blame someone else when he misses a chip shot FG.

He got the ball off the ground so he should have made a gimme 29 yard FG.

Cut him today and watch how fast he starts bad mouthing the Cowboys.

Dude, I completely agree. While I will not claim to be a better kicker than he is, Cortez's attitude is downright detrimental to the team's cohesion and spirit. Cortez immediatley blames others for his inabilities, and publicly bashes his teammates. I would not be surprised if he is sent walking this week. His attitude and lack of professionalism is not a contributor to our team building efforts and future cohesion as a team. Aren't some of you local writers for the press in DFW? Please, write a nice short piece on the concept of team and Cortez's non-contributions to this effort. Should this fail to materialize, I can definitely send a member my version of such an article.
