It's very clear after yesterday...

That we have the most dumb fanbase in the NFL. On the radio after the game, all I heard were callers who were moaning about how we had failed, we will lose our first playoff game, and Wade should be fired, blah blah blah. Even here on this board, the majority of comments are to the tune of "whoa is us". This place has been littered with self-pity and loathing for the last few weeks, but it reached a new level yesterday. All this over a game that didnt matter. At all. Washington had everything to play for, we had nothing to play for. Had we won that game, it would have been an indictment on how poor Washington is, not how good we are. I have been nothing short of ashamed of this fanbase the last 24 hours or so.

I cannot remember a 13-3 team heading into the postseason who's fans were acting like we just experianced the end of a 4-12 year. In today's NFL, 13-3 is re,markable. You don't win 13 games in the age of free agency and the cap without being very, very good. Yes, we have struggled the last few weeks, and yes, there should be a slight concern about our injuries, but you know what? Tampa Bay lost 3 of their last 4, all to losing teams. Green Bay got dump trucked by a .500 team in a game they REALLY needed to win. Seattle is maybe the most inconsistant playoff team this season, and they have looked pitiful at times. New York lost to us, twice, by double digits, and lost just about every big game they played.

Us? We lost a meaningless game to a team playing their biggest regular season game in God knows how long without 3 pro bowlers and resting our starters for almost an entire half. We were 5-2 against playoff teams this year, and beat another team (Minnesota) who almost made it. We beat New York in a game that decided the division. We beat Green bay in a game that decided the conference. We won several HUGE games this year. Yet here we are, whining about our #1 seed and easiest route to the SB in the conference.

The ticket postgame was awesome.

Norm and donny were worse than the fans, that has been how norm has acted all year.

but the fans calling in and whining is always comedy. I really wonder sometimes if the people they let on the air even watched the game, then sometimes I wonder if the people answering the questions watched the game.

I'm guessing it's the heartbreak received by the Mavs first round bow-out after an incredible regular season. Honestly, with the way the Cowboys have been playing and all the injuries of late, you can't honestly tell me you think the Cowboys are going to ride like they did through most of the regular season. Whatever has Romo off kilter, needs to be put on the back burner for the next month+, and hope the injuries cease and the players return to full strength.

At that point, I will be more sure of the Cowboys future. Right now, I'm only hopeful and not convinced.

EDIT: Remember, there are two NFCE rivals in the playoffs now. Divisional games are always tough. Having two of them in the playoffs is not good, but it's not fatal if the Cowboys can get back on track.

reading all this stuff around here is funny. I cant believe the sheer amount of people that seem to already be packing it in and the complete and total overreaction to the game yesterday.

its as if its so easy to win 13 games and Dallas didnt have to be very good to do that. People are acting like Dallas eeked in at 8-8 or 9-7

You're surprised fans are upset we lay down for a division rival? You're upset fans think we look weak after gaining less than an inch per carry? You're upset fans have seen our offense stutter over the last four weeks leading into the playoffs?

You name a bunch of teams that played badly towards the end, and all I see is a list of teams that have little to no shot at the Superbowl. Those are not the teams we should be equating ourselves to. Seattle? Tampa Bay? Are you kidding me?

Granted, yes, some fans will over react. That's what fans do. It's a sport people are passionate about, and there will always be those that jump off the bridge. How is that surprising?

But we shouldn't be going into the playoffs comparing ourselves to teams like the Bucs, Giants, Seahawks or even the Packers (who are easily the best of that bunch), we won't need to play them to win the Superbowl if we get there. We need to start comparing ourselves to the AFC elite, like the Pats, Colts and even the Chargers.

As bad as it is to scream "Whoa is me" over the last few weeks, it's just as bad to pretend nothing is wrong and we still look like the team that was lighting people up earlier in the season.

Not even close. That goes to the Commanders fans hands down. One moment, they have given in to being the biggest loser, then they win against a crappy team and they think their the second coming and cannot be beat. Then they lose and return to being the biggest losers on the planet.

I don’t ever have a problem with folks letting out some frustration or gripes. I think that it is natural and i usually need to vent after an ugly game like that! Of course after a few days you should get over it. But what i do have a problem with is the insults that so many Cowboys fans get away with. You should be ashamed of yourself for insulting the entire fan base. No better fans in the world than the Dallas Cowboy fans.

Both forms are acceptable in a colloquial setting, and this board is certainly colloquial.

:D I've been very ashamed of our fans too. They remind me of Eagle fans with their loyalty. Someone had it with the cowboys yesterday, and "quit after 30 years of being a 'loyal' fan." The worst part is, if I was a fan on another board, I'd be laughing at people here.

Pure comedy from Norm and Donny. They try their hardest not to be bias but man, was Norm this bad during the mid 90s run? It was depressing listening to them like they wanted to believe there was no optimism for the Cowboys anymore.

I think Deion Sanders said it best when he said the Cowboys were not trying to show much of their offense and defense. I agree with him and IMO the Cowboys played a safe game to prevent injuries.....

They are absolutely abysmal. I pray to the gods that the Ticket will somehow make some changes next year, because it's intolerable -- win or lose.
