I said what I said and I'll say it again.

Gallup's contract says that he should be better than some randoms off the bench.

I don't care if he is not a top paid WR or not. If some rando off the bench can give us the same level of production then he should have not been paid what he was paid.

I don't see how that's so hard to comprehend. You pay more money for something that you think is better, right?

You have the right to feel however you choose. NFL on the other hand have certain market values that place on players there is your version then there is the reality. Fact is Gallup takes up little space on this team and if someone can step up and show they are even better then they have the chance to make even more and the Cowboys only improve as a team.

If you buy something and then later realize you already had something just as good sitting around does that make you happy? Or upset that you're stuck paying a much higher price for something that should be better than what you already have?

Gallup was paid what he was paid because he is supposed to be a higher quality WR than the guys on the bench. If he is not then he is a waste of money no matter what he is paid.

That is all I'm saying and it's really not difficult to understand unless you are purposely trying to argue.

we are talking about building a football team not buying a product. You are looking to bring in talent, what Gallup is paid is very reasonable and as other talent comes in you hope that they too can contribute to the success of the team. Gallup is not paid as a #1 WR not even close to what top WR are getting paid, but what he brings to the table is big play ability. As other player come in and develop they will get their chance to prove themselves and for the betterment of the team you bet I hope they are up to the task.

Let me lay you out an example for you here because you seem to have trouble understanding....

Say you have a 4 year contract with a guy that mows your lawn for $300 a week, okay? He calls you up one day and says he's sick and going to be off a couple months.

So, in the meantime you call your back up guy and he mows your lawn for $100 a week.

The guy that does it for $100 a week does just as good as they guy you're paying $300 a week too.

Do you not, at any point, say to yourself "ya know, why am I paying this guy so much more for the same exact production?"

Would you not expect a better job from the $300 a week person over the $100 a week person?

If you pay premium price for something you expect premium results as compared to your back up plan. Personally, I would expect a return on what I am paying. I would expect the $300 a week person to do a much better job than the $100 a week person. If you don't, and you're okay with the more expensive person giving you the same amount of production as the cheaper person then you're just a sucker.

Again you do not understand the NFL game, you are trying to add talent to the roster. This is not a fricken lawn care business. So you would underpay or out right cut any player because someone else may get drafted and prove they are better knowing you need 5 to 6 WR on a roster. Gallup is not being paid premium contract his is pretty much avg and on a 5 year deal his contract becomes smaller in the big scheme of things as the NFL cap continues to rise these WR will continue to get paid bigger contract than what we see now. Gallup is a prove vet with big play ability what he is paid is well within reason and hopefully others guys also can come up and prove they can be quality player to help improve this team. This is a 54 man roster not a low care business

I guess I misjudged you.

I didn't take you as the type that would be okay with paying a higher price for production that you could have gotten cheaper or may have already had laying around.... Oh well, my mistake.

I expect players to be paid in accordance with the market value they have earned. Had Gallup demanded top money are we see from other WR I would say no way in hell would I pay him top money. I look at his market value within the NFL and what the Cowboys offered him on a 5 year deal and it was a fair offer. We have guys who are paid very little who are on rookie deals and as they develop and get playing time they will have the opportunity within the FA market to set their value. A young player stepping up and proving himself has nothing to do with Gallup contract

I'm sorry, call me crazy, but I'm not exactly going to be ecstatic if some bench player plays just as good as Gallup would have, because I expect Gallup to be better than that.

Ok your crazy. I'm sorry I hope to see players show quality in their play be it TJ Vasher or Simi Fehoko show the talent which was why they were brought to Dallas. I want to add talent not get rid of talent, Gallup is also a talented player and got a fair market deal and if by some chance someone jumps up and plays great then it benefits the team and does not change the fact that Gallup deal was fair market value. These other guys on rookie contracts make little but have the chance to make more

I prefer to see players that are paid more play better than bench guys.

That's not saying that I wouldn't love to see bench guys step up and play great, but no matter how great they play, I'd still want to see the guys that are paid better play better.

That's why they're paid more, right? They're supposed to produce better than a guy off the bench.

My question is what are they going to do if they see the same start to this season as they did with Bryant gone?

It’s not about who steps up on the team but who steps in to the team.

Booger is not built to throw away a season for want of a WR.

Gallup earned his, it falls to young players to go out and earn theirs. Gallup on a rookie deal finally got paid as a FA these other players are currently on rookie deals and I hope they go out and prove their value to this team. I want to win, not interested in your view on what a player is paid. If one of these young WR go out and make a name for themselves based on play they could see more than what Gallup is paid but you still need 5 to 6 WR on a team. If Gallup was looking at #1 WR money no I would not have paid that because he is not a #1 WR but his contribution to the team was worth keeping him on a fair deal

I accept that you don't care if bench guys perform just as well as higher paid guys.

Why can't you accept that I'd prefer higher paid guys to play like higher paid guys and sperate themselves from bench guys and show they are worth the money they're paid?

Remember, you replied unprovoked to my take on things, I didn't chime in on something you said. It's like you are trying to tell me how you feel about things when I don't really care lol

So by your reason Parson who is on a rookie deal is out performing a lot of players so that means they do not deserve to get paid? Gallup got paid but not as a #1 WR he was paid within the market value and those guys are still needed in the NFL. Lastly if you do not want me responding to your post I will refrain from it.

I don't care who gets paid or how much they get paid as long as they're worth it.

Gallup got paid, right? He's now our highest paid WR. I expect better from him then what we've got so far.

I expect him to do his job just as I expect others to do theirs. He is the highest paid because the rest of on rookie deals.

Do you not hold Gallup to a higher standard? He should just "do his job?" Are there not levels to it?

I expect him to play to the talent level he has, I'm not expect Randy Moss numbers, but I do expect him to play to the level of his talent and to make plays for this team. I expect more from CeeDee Lamb despite the fact he is still on a rookie deal. Expectations of Lamb are considerably higher, as a #1 draft choice and now he in a position as the #1 WR more is expected.

I expect much more than "just do your job" from these guys.
