I've enjoyed this offseason so far. Last year was a terrifyingly drama filled offseason between the Coop move and the speculation involving McCarthy getting the sack, despite taking us from 6-10 to 12-5. Last offseason was just, well, negative. Then, the team surprised many people by not only matching that record, but winning a playoff game.

Now, we come to this offseason. I've enjoyed the moves we have made. I like that there has been much more quiet this offseason in terms of drama. I think we have a nice team building. I like that we are shifting to a WCO identity. I'm looking forward to the draft, and I think this will be a fun season for us. Go Cowboys!
Quinn is staying and Moore is gone.

I know a lot of people are reporting this, but I dont agree with it. We have some positions that definitely need to be addressed. RB and Guard are two of them. I would include DT in there, but we know the FO doesnt agree.

I'm not so sure. I think the fact that they had Mazi Smith begs to differ. Though I'd prefer Becton, Dexter, or Siaki Ika, I'd be happy with Smith, and it shows at least they're looking. Perhaps we might end up with a run stuffed. It'd be brilliant as our division rivals like to run the ball.

Two weeks from now this place will be arguing over what the Cowboys did in the first round, so enjoy the tranquility while you can. :muttley:
75 - 80% of the CZers will be disappointed late Thursday night \ Friday morning, because the Cowboys
- chose someone other than player they wanted that was there
- picked a position other than the one they preferred
- went offense instead of defense - or vice-versa
- skipped BPA still available in their mind
- "reached" for that player
- didn't trade down, or out of the round to get "better value" and obtain an extra draft pick

This has already been the most productive offseason for the Cowboys that I can remember in a very long time. If they knock the draft out of the park, this team will be a force to reckoned with. The Cooks and Gilmore signings were excellent moves and allow Dallas to pick best player available in the draft since all of the previously glaring holes (WR and CB) have been filled.

I imagine there's some Cowboys fan out who thinks it's the worst off-season ever because of the recent lull in activity LOL

80% of the fanbase will be upset that we didnt take a WR with the first 3 picks despite the fact that its a team strength.

I don't know, 'CowboyRoy'; I would not declare Dallas' WR talent is a position of "strength" (after Lamb and Cooks...the next three are unproven = Tolbert, Fehoko, Houston).
There's four prospects that the Cowboys might think about selecting if they are still around at no. 26:
○ Johnston (TCU)
○ Smith-Njigba (Ohio State)
○ Flowers (Boston College)
○ Addison (USC)
---but I side with you.
Cowboys traded for Cooks; AND - I would sit back and wait to see what the Cardinals will do with Hopkins...perhaps that they reduce their offer to a 3rd and 5th round picks in 2024.
Given the prospecrive talents at other positions rounds 1-3....pass on WR until the 4th round.

What about Mr Gallup?……he’s not exactly chopped liver, lol

of course his production last year wasn’t exactly memorable

Gallup as a #3 is quite the luxury. With a full healthy offseason to work with dak in the offense and a full year removed from his surgery I would expect a different season for him.

As far as WR's in the first why would they do that? Its also a bad draft for WR's. I am not impressed with any of them. Flowers and Addison and nigba are small. Johnson is big but lacks speed and yac. To me they are all 2nd round talents in a good WR draft.

Now you want to grab one of these great TE's this year, I like that idea better.

I definitely think that we might be ok at WR. I wouldn't be upset if we took one, but I don't think that's a position where we need to reach.

But why would they use a 1st round pick on one? Makes no sense to me. Unless they plan on getting rid of both Gallup and Cooks after this season. And even then, who is going to be blocking for all these WR's next year?

I'm not saying in round 1. I'm thinking round 4 for a player such as a Michael Wilson from Stanford would be a smart choice.
