yet he played a fair number of snaps in hot and humid Florida.Dude might have a heart attack in camp. Just sitting at the dining hall table. I must say, if they can get him to lose some weight. Maybe 25 pounds, he could be useful in obvious run situations.
Great point. That's amazing really if you understand that humidity down there in Fla.yet he played a fair number of snaps in hot and humid Florida.
I think he needs to lose about seventy or eighty pounds.
well, that all comes down to calories burned vs calories gained.Great point. That's amazing really if you understand that humidity down there in Fla.

My son is in the Army and gained a lot of weight after they sent him to South Korea. He was over 300 pounds by the time that duty station was over. Now he's stateside and back in shape. All after weight gain, a car wreck where he nearly lost his life . So I totally understand everything you explained with the weight. Soldiers get home sick, miss family, and yes get depressed, get bored, so they eat. The MRE's also are loaded with calories lol. Just sayingwell, that all comes down to calories burned vs calories gained.
He might sit in his room for 20 hours a day and ingest 15,000 calories a day.
In defiance of the norm, I actually gained weight in UAE and Kuwait when I was over there.
100% humidity/130 degree temp daily, didn't stymie my weight gain.
When you have access to a 24 hour chow haul... all bets are off.
Think about how hard it would be to obtain that kind of critical mass. It's not easily undone. If you want to praise his ability to sustain that kind of mass, good on ya. It's not playing weight and anyone who tries to pass this off as feasible is unbalanced.
In the NFL he can be expunged/amended. Dude is big, but there is such a thing as too big.
Why waste a pick on a player who has no architype for success in the NFL?
UDFA, sure why not. If they waste a draft pick on this prospect, I will lose faith in the system all together.
Btw, I agree with your thoughts on the NT. Hopefully the kid comes to his senses and drops weight. The health issues as you get older aren't worth it.well, that all comes down to calories burned vs calories gained.

actually it is not as simple as you make it out to be.well, that all comes down to calories burned vs calories gained.

Football is a lot of standing around. The average guy runs about 1.5 miles a game, it's not that taxing.actually it is not as simple as you make it out to be.
playing football on the line means tremendous physical stress.
Not sitting around as you claim.
The fact that he did crank out a lot of snaps in games shows that there is real potential there if he loses some weight.
And the claim about wasting a draft pick is just plain STUPID.
a seventh rd pick is all about gambling on potential
