I can't say much about it or post my review (due to the embargo) until the
27th (next Tuesday), but I will say this: It's better than I imagined. It's really, REALLY good. Right there with SPIDER-MAN 2 and BATMAN BEGINS IMO. Singer nailed it and hit it out of the park.

Anyway, I know some of y'all are fired up for it and some have been sort of "meh" about it. But trust me, it kicks ***. I'm seeing it again Monday and I can't wait. Here's my review preview:

So, you are "Jett" from Batman-on-Film?

How was the CG in the movie? Pretty realistic or overkill?

Good. It's much more story driven that a CGI-fest. Better than SPIDER-MAN, IMO. And yes, that's who I am. Keep that on the down and low. ;)

Great review...very well written.

Don't worry...your secret's safe.

HTown, check your pm's. I wrote a review but it contains many spoilers.

How can there be any spoilers?? Superman leaves his planet when a baby, it blows up, he lands on earth, gets taken in by farmers, grows up, goes to the big city, defeats bad guys. the end.

Thats like saying that you can't talk about the titanic movie, because you don't want to give the ending away, or King Kong because you don't want to say that kong dies in the end.

It probably has better effects than the others, but story wise, every superman fan knows the basics.

There is a rather BIG plot twist in the film actually.

If that's the case, and you already know all about it...

Why did you click on this thread?

I am debating seeing this one. I was never really a Superman fan, but this summer basically has nothing that interests me so I will see it.

By the way, when is the next Batman movie scheduled to release. I loved BEGINS and hope the next one comes next summer.

I HIGHLY suggest seeing it -- if not for the spaceshuttle/777 scene alone.

BATMAN 2 will be released in June of 2008. They'll begin filming early in 2007. For more, may I suggest reading...

I saw a trailer for Spiderman 3 yesterday that looked awesome. The venom suit effects are very cool.

This Superman movie makes me sad and I haven't even seen it yet. The reason it makes me sad is that the thrilling phrase I always will associate with Superman is "Fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way." This movie drops the "American Way" part of that phrase.

I don't know which part makes me sadder, that our image in the world has fallen to such an extent that the phrase has become meaningless, that as a society we have lost that sense of who we are, or that Hollywood hates America to such an extent that using the phrase is something they can't bring themselves to do. Whether, it's one or a combination of all of yhose things, it's still sad.

lspain, I agree.

As HTown says, seeing that 777 scene is worth the $7.50 I paid.

HTown, have you seen it in IMAX yet? I plan on doing that very soon.

Just saw the movie today...

Not yet. I'm going to head down this next weekend and check it out on IMAX. Thankfully, they are building a theater with an IMAX screen right near my subdivision.

BTW y'all, for those interested in DC COMICS-based films, it looks like WONDER WOMAN is up next, written and directed by Josh Whedon. From what a Warner Bros. insider told me, holiday 2007 for that one. And the BATMAN BEGINS sequel is coming in June of 2008; and trust me, it's going to blow 'em ALL away! Think "THE LONG HALLOWEEN." Oh, and WATCHMEN is on the fast-track as well.
