Vick and Geno combined for 12/31 passing for 0 TDs and 1 pick. Wow. You have to try to be that bad.

That offense is a hot mess right now.

I doubt you would have any QB step in there and do much with it.

The Jets have no identity. You can just throw them in a big pile of a bunch of teams who are just meh.

I'd be surprised if Rex lasts the season.

Geno Smith missed meeting Saturday, Jets say it was 'honest mistake'

As bad as Geno Smith was on the field on Sunday -- he got benched after halftime following a first half vs. the Chargers in which he completed 4 of 12 passes for 27 yards and one interception -- his previous seven days might have been even worse.

First, the Jets quarterback cursed out a fan after New York lost to the Lions in Week 4, and on Saturday, the day before the Jets were dominated 31-0 by San Diego, he missed a team meeting, apparently upsetting some members of the organization, according to the NY Daily News.

Early Monday morning, the team responded, confirming that Smith had missed team meeting on Saturday but calling it an "honest mistake."

Wrote the Daily News: "According to the [Jets] spokesman, the quarterback 'got the times confused' and arrived 5-10 minutes after the meetings ended. He covered the details of the meetings with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and quarterbacks coach David Lee. This was the first time that Smith had missed a meeting, according to the team."

Not a huge deal, right? Especially since Jets coach Rex Ryan said after the Chargers game that he planned to start Smith next week vs. the Broncos (of course, it's also not a great thing when the starting quarterback misses a team meeting).

But Smith reportedly got his time zones mixed up, which is why he missed the meeting in the first place. And there's this.

I loved the 2009-2011 Jets. They were a ground and pound, punch you in the mouth type of team. Now they still have a nice defense, but their O has been disgustingly bad for the last few years.

Shouldn't he have shown up to the meeting 3 hours too early if it was due to time zone confusion?

Supposedly he was at the movies during the meeting. Doesnt that beg the next obvious question? ha

From what I have heard/read.

He, and a few team mates, were at the movies when he realized the time was wrong.

The Jets set up all meetings on their itinerary in EST and did not convert it to Pacific time.

Gino said he counted up instead of down or down instead of up...by that he meant that instead of the time on the itinerary being noon and him changing that to 9 by counting down from 12 he counted up from twelve and thought it was at 4.

Stupid mistake but it was not just him it was him and a few of his team mates and once they figured out they were wrong they left the movies and headed back.

Also from what was said this was the first time he has been late to a meeting and the coaching staff or team said it was an honest mistake on his part.

Of course you are going to stick up for the WVU QB. :p

Jets QB Michael Vick: 'I think I took the scout team for granted'

Jets quarterback Michael Vick admitted Wednesday that he should have taken his scout-team snaps more seriously heading into Sunday's game against the Chargers, ESPNNewYork.com reports.

"I felt like I, for some reason, being a quarterback in his 12th year, sometimes you to take things for granted," Vick said. "I think I took the scout team for granted."

I know you are joking however...

I think he needs better weapons on offense so I will defend him there.

However I also think he has done some stupid stuff (cussing the fans) and this counting up vs down thing is stupid on his part as well. Can't defend him on that, just writing what I understand was the reason.

I think Geno is in a horrible situation. Bad offensive talent and a bad head coach(one that not long ago some said was a better coach than Garrett). Geno does a bad job of helping himself as well.

We (WVU fan friends of mine) said this when he was drafted, ... it was a sad day.

I felt Tavon got drafted into a good situation, with Sam Bradford and playing indoors on turf.
It hasn't turned out that way so far.

Ryan is a mess. Should have been gone year before last.
Mark Sanchez needed a real support system.
The kid led team to two straight AFC title games... In his first toe years.

Led? No, he was along for the ride behind a great defense and a very strong offensive line and running game.
