J Lewis and Osa contract nugget

Valid criticism here ... Cowboys should've re-upped in summer of 2024. Likely would've saved at least 15 to 30 million. I mean, it's not like he wasn't your best homegrown interior DL that you had since his rookie year. You should've known then that you could not offered to lose him. He was the classic guy that you should re-up early with

Osa....leaning towards taking the comp pick.

JLew is a must sign.
There backs are against the wall with Odighizuwa. He is their only good DT and this is an awful FA. Yes you can draft, but that comes at a big risk and could torpedo 2025

They dont have much of a choice

Osa at 4/90 is fine IF the structure is team friendly…as in like a 35m base in year four that he will never see, making it essentially like 3/55, and also something they can get out of after year two without difficulty. Don’t go guaranteeing virtually the entire damned thing like they do with some others.

Theyve really gotta stop waiting on guys they want to resign, and having to pay more. I realize this is common knowledge by now but they really do need to get better there.

Another thing that bugs me is if Osa played for another team initially they would never even CONSIDER giving him that kind of money. Just points out the lazy approach and the fact that neither of the GMs do actual GM work.

Brian Schottenheimer: Micah Parsons negotiations are a “two-way street”

Published February 28, 2025 07:23 PM
When it comes to drafting and developing players, the Cowboys do a great job. When it comes to giving their home-grown stars new deals on a timely basis, they don’t.

Foot-dragging handcuffed the Cowboys in free agency a year ago, with the cap-savings from new contracts for receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott coming too late to matter. This year, as linebacker Micah Parsons waits for his overdue (frankly) second deal, will ownership once again use an all brakes, no gas approach?

“I think they understand that,” Schottenheimer said Thursday regarding whether the front office understands the impact of delay, via Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports. “Look, the business of the NFL has become so big and again it’s a two-way street. There’s negotiations and sometimes those negotiations take time, [so] it’s our job to focus on the guys that are there.”

We just want to show fans that we're doing something

Possible if we hit on mazi but since that’s a whiff
I've got my fingers these new coaches can get him playing better. After the way he was screwed up by the old coaches his rookie season, he did make some plays this last year.

How was he screwed up by the old coaches?? You can't be kidding me, this is nuts as if these same coaches coached him in college and the coaches on this team had a reason for his poor play, maybe it's just Mazi did you ever think that

Mazi is a journeyman. Just an average player that will make a roster every year who plays on first and second downs. He plays well under his draft status. Another swing and a miss. Argh.

I’d reward Dowdle with 13 over 2 yrs . If it starts going north of that might have to rethink strategy.

LOL ... Osa's price going up by the hour (lol)
They really need to get Lewis done

Damn......we pay players off their best contract year, and we pay them off of their projected best year, that has not even happened yet.

Jerry gets screwed in contract negotiations with everyone.

He desperately needs a real GM.

Another overpaying, desperation contract because there is no other option.

The drafting of Neville Gallimore, Trysten Hill, and Villami Fehoko come back to haunt them.
