J Lewis and Osa contract nugget

3 for 54 max for osa. Wants to go. Bye. I’ll take comp pick
4Y/80M+ is the floor.

He could even get 90M+

Dallas doesn’t have the cap.

It’s all a game to save face.

That 20M pays for Turpin, Hoffman, and Lance.

Lewis needs a deal too.

Won’t need anywhere close to $20m for those players. Hoffman will be league minimum, a 2nd round tender for Turpin is around $5m, and Lance is gone unless he has zero market outside of Dallas.

Not a strong choice of cuts or available funds to work. Wait on Osa to start figuring out roles and relationships.

Osa at 10 mil per year? Sure.
Osa at 12 mil per year? Maybe.
Osa at 22 mil per year? Dude, love having you on the team, but no way.

Always loved Lewis. Hope that they keep him. He is what Parcells called a "glue guy."

DeMarcus Lawrence has been a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ defense since he was drafted with the 34th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Over his career, he has developed into an elite run defender with pass-rushing skills. With 61.5 career sacks (all in Dallas), Lawrence has consistently shown to be a reliable defensive end for the Cowboys.

His leadership extends beyond the field. As a veteran, Lawrence plays a key role in mentoring younger players on the defensive line and has been a calming and guiding presence in the locker room.

Re-signing Lawrence would ensure that the Cowboys continue to have a strong voice on defense who understands the culture and expectations of the team.

But Osa is still value paired with Parsons.

Osa at 4/90 is fine IF the structure is team friendly…as in like a 35m base in year four that he will never see, making it essentially like 3/55, and also something they can get out of after year two without difficulty. Don’t go guaranteeing virtually the entire damned thing like they do with some others.

Theyve really gotta stop waiting on guys they want to resign, and having to pay more. I realize this is common knowledge by now but they really do need to get better there.

Another thing that bugs me is if Osa played for another team initially they would never even CONSIDER giving him that kind of money. Just points out the lazy approach and the fact that neither of the GMs do actual GM work.
Yeah, good luck finding an agent willing to take that back to his client.
