After recovering from his injury, I felt he was used a bit sparingly vs. the Chargers.

I think the staff is being cautious w/him. Hoping to see more of him vs. Seattle. ;)
Absolutely agree, Cox was ballin last night. Even filled the gap a couple of times with power and showed some pass rush on a couple of plays. If LVE is on the field on 3rd downs I’m going to be pulling my hair out. I’m also hoping Cox gets some snaps on early downs to show what he can do.
I don't think he is an afterthought.
I think they were planning on him playing meaningful snaps coming into the season.
He has made a remarkable recovery from his knee injury...
First game action in 10 months (injured last Halloween night v. Vikings).
We should expect Cox to start slow, then steadily improve over the course of the upcoming season.

If LVE is on the field on 3rd down it will be a good thing. He will have a specific reason of being there and playing the part. If he can't play on 3rd he will not be out there.

You mean like last year? He was not good and was still out there and so was Jaylon when he was here so I disagree with that

I think LVE got better as the year went on, and another year with Micah should elevate that as well. My point though, is that with Cox and Barr, if LVE is on the field on 3rd down, he should be out there. They have more depth than they did last year with cox not being injured, and there will be a reason for whoever is out there on 3rd being there.

Know he's an after thought but his play was solid & very active

I know there was a play at the end of the first quarter where the QB ran off and left him, it almost reminded me of Our favorite drop foot LB. He looked very slow on that particular play.

His old teammate QB Easton Stick showed some wheels running for a big gain.....Cox wasnt gaining
Didn't Fowler end up in the way and cause Jabril a sight hesitation to avoid running into him?

Jabril played a very good game, he showed up in the run game which was his weakness coming out of college...so a encouraging outing by him.

The LB position is being slept on, but Dallas has been acquiring some interesting young players there in Cox, Harper and Clark. Barr n LVE are around to allow these guys time to develop.

Dallas shouldn't sit still at linebacker in next year's offseason. LVE maybe a journeyman waiting to happen. Barr is not a long-term solution. Clark it's coming off a serious injury. Cox is a fourth round draft pick. And Parsons is so good at rushing the quarterback that he is essentially a part-time linebacker. We have dept, but we may need starting quality. Just saying.

Yes, even Malik Jefferson looks way better than last year's bottom of the depth chart LB Francis Bernard.

I’m glad you started this thread . Huge upgrade over the days of dipping into the Joe Thomas bag of tricks . Cox is going to be a welcome addition on what’s shaping up as a young aggressive squad . Dante Fowler . Wanted Dallas to sign him and what do you know they did I’m glad to see both Cox & Fowler coming up this season .

Dang. Those are the type of backup QBs I’d like to see Dallas take a swing on.

In 2019 we selected Joe Jackson. One pick before Easton Stick. That year Rush was the only QB other than Dak, and it was a sad QB room that had no competition behind the starter.

We have invested 5 years in Cooper Rush, and if it was me I would have to say that he is not where I would expect a 5 year back up QB to be physically.

I would have expected him to have improved his arm strength done more work in the weight room to get improve the arm and the feet.

Back up QBs have limitations. There are reasons why they aren't starters. But that doesn't mean they aren't competitors and constantly driven to try and wrest away the starter's position with their work year over year.

Cooper Rush doesn't excite me very much. Just like Jason Garrett or Kellen Moore or the bevy of other backups we have had.

Last backup I was really excited about was Hogeboom. Gun for an arm. Bad recognition skills, but he gave White a challenge and run for the starter's spot.

Stick is a hell of a athlete, had best 3 cone time in entire indy combine that year... ndsu qb guru called him the best of all ...over wentz, trey lance

so why did he get zero draft hype does he just not have an nfl arm?
