Every time I hear Garrett and Romo say they want to be able to exploit what the defense is doing by beng great at all phases of offense, this phrase comes to mind.

Maybe we don't have the talent and/or time to implement such a plan and should just focus on trying to do a few things really well, then add plays as our execution becomes as close to flawless as possible.

Thoughts?

I think that you have a valid point.

I also think that there is no correct answer to the question that you ask.A person could make an argument that it's all execution and not scheme.Another person could say that the scheme needs to be simpilified until they learn to execute that simplified scheme."Half a dozen one way,six another" if you will.I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle and hopefully a solution to the problem is forthcoming.

My vote is on lack of focus, procedure penalties tell me that this team isn't prepared correctly during the week. However is that lack of focus on the staff or on the players?Parcells had the same problems,so it's got to be the players. But then again I don't see a practice so I can't say for sure.Anyway, with the knowledge that Joe E. Fan has available it would be hard to pinpoint what plagues this team with any certainty.

Been saying this forever. No team can be equally great at everything. You have to have an identity and stick to it.

I don't know that they have to be great at anything, but they do need to be efficient in whichever direction they go.Being great would be grand, but i'd settle for a good efficient 60 minute game from them at the moment.

They don't do that at all. They run deep routes all the time and teams drop back in coverage to take away the deep pass, forcing the offense to beat them in the short passing game. They have been resorting to this trend for the last two years. It is the same BS they said about the 2 TE formation. All they do is use it to try and keep pressure off Romo...
