I don't think he overplayed his hand. He didn't leave with nothing. He got paid $4 million. While there are only 32 head coaching jobs in the NFL, I don't think all of them are great. Living in Buffalo in the winter doesn't sound like a good time.

Who knows, a year to recharge as OL coach in Jacksonville, I am sure there will be better HC jobs after 2015 season, cle, Cin, NYG, Minny, Oak

Best thing we have is outdoor hockey. Good time or no?

Probably a good time, but not enough to overcome an older stadium and a team with no clear cut QB.
I think not having a QB was the bigger issue than living in Buffalo. He's from the Bronx and coached in Cuse, he should be fine in cold weather.

Nfl may have had a silent blackball on this guy for the way he left Buffalo.
