How far down could we trade down from the 20th pick and still get JR? I would love to get this dude. All he does is make plays. Would love to trade down 10-20 picks to get an extra 2 or 3 and still get this guy. I think Dane has him ranked in the 40s so I would think if we traded back to the end of the first or the top of the second, we could still get him. Thoughts?

I think he ends up a first rounder. I think you could move to 25th and safely expect him there. That would probably net us a 3rd rounder

i think moving down from 20 is a real possibility for an extra 3rd but if we cant then i would take him at 20.

I think he’ll go higher than 40 for sure

The only think he has working against him is his age. He’s a terrific player

He turns 24 September 6th

I'd love a trade down from 12 and pick up a 2nd if we could, but also a trade down maybe more so from 20, and nab him late in the 1st round before someone else jumps on him

He is a good but I think we still need a thumper in the middle as well. 3-4 strong ILB that can take on blocks and shed OL. I would like to pair him with CJ allen if we can pull off a miracle.

I just wrote a post where I do not believe Rodriguez will be in the cards. McClay always targets elite length for the position and Rodriguez has 30 inch arms.

I'm not convinced he goes in 1. I think around 33-38 range. Schwesinger was a better prospect and he went 33

Jack Campbell went at 18 just a few years ago with Detroit. People made fun of them for taking Gibbs and him that soon. The GM said we want good football players. Who’s laughing now?
That dude is a missile for sure, I tell my brother and law (lions fan), would love to have him on the boys. Remember the lions and year before that ATL both taking RB’s early and people thought both were crazy.

I agree I want the defense to be watchable
And fun again

Imagine we get him
And downs

So does that mean that Bain is off the table? Downs and Howell as well?

If shorter arm length is ruling people out in Dallas, then there will be a lot of good players off the board in this draft.

I don’t see many teams with pressing needs who would likely use their 1st on Rodriguez. And I don’t see someone paying the price to move up to the first. Maybe someone trades down to the late 1st or possibly Buffalo since they don’t have a 2nd.

Teams grade players differently and someone may think he’s the next Campbell. But we should stick with our evaluation and not draft scared. If we can’t live without him, take him at 20

Just saying this is what our front office has done for years. Unless they become more flexible, expect those long armed prospects
