I read where the cowboys are willing to give Jacob Rogers another chance, and he is embittered because he thinks cowboys did him wrong. Then I have read where he says he wont be ready for offseasoning conditioning.
First he says he wants to prove he can play, and isnt a whimp when it comes to playing football. Get real, its same thing if he isnt going to go into offseasoning conditioning and work out. His surgery wasnt that as serious as Al Johnson's or Flozell Adams, and they came back and started working out. To me this guy needs to own up to being a whus, and go play somewhere else. Take some others clubs money for not playing.

He isn't ready because of the surgery. Everyone can say what they want about Rogers, but the medical community doesn't give surgeries for no reason. He suffered a legitimate injury and chose to have it corrected with surgery. He was just thinking of what was best for him in the long run. Playing with a torn up knee would have led to a lot of scar tissue. He might not have been able to regain his full strength again.

His surgery was the same as Al Johnson's. most folks would say it is more serious a surgery than Flozell's because it is newer and generally less successful.

If he isn't working out it is because he isn't cleared. Not because he doesn't want to.

When did he have the surgery? Some time last fall right? Then he should be working our right now.

the last i read is that he is working out. but there is still some debate as to whether he'll be ready for offseason workouts. I'm thinking maybe in May at their minicamp.

Right, thats what I am saying his injury was same as Al Johnsons and he came back and started working out the next offseason, like if a guy is injured on knee like he claims, at least you cant tell me he cant come in and work out on his bench press, get his chest and arms etc more powerful. Thats what i am getting at, al johnson came in, worked out, so did stephen peterman, and his knee injury was more serious.
Next, you got to remember whus Jacob Rogers has had over 7 months to recover, that is more than enough time to do light workouts, etc. Thats what i am getting at, he has another excuse for not coming in, to work out. We had a guy just like him years ago in Jeff Zimmerman, injured, didnt want to work out and pay the price to recover.
Also, remember that he had a chance to come in and workout, after his first year, and he didnt, same thing, didnt want to or pay the price. All he is a person that wants to cry wolf, get paid for nothing. Time to move on! Admit you made a mistake drafting him, cut your losses. I guarantee you, if you keep him, he will declare some other injury, remember he has shoulder problems too. Then, the Cowboys will be stuck with him another year paying him for nothing and a roster spot. Whimp Rogers needs to get out of Dodge, and move on.

We need this guy badly. We need to push his butt to get healthy and get out there and keep us from spending more money in places we shouldn't have to spend it.

Let's leave the determination of when he should and shouldn't be ready to work out to the Doctors shall we?

actually, Rogers was rehabbing from shoulder sugery last off-season. any workout he missed were because he wasn't cleared by DOCTORS to workout.

He wasn't working out then, he's not working out now, and he is getting farther and farther behind the curve and will be even more susceptible to injury because he will be even more out of shape with his muscles not ready for the rigors of football. He will of course get injured again and we will be stuck with his contract for yet another year. He will have been paid three years of a fairly lucrative contract without having played a down (not counting a few ST spots).

We did the right thing in trying to cut our losses when we released him injured last year. We would be doing the right thing if we cut his azz NOW.

The macrofracture surgery has very strict rules about the rehab process. That's one of the reasons they think they had such mixed early results with the proceedure, people weren't rehabing correctly. Its in the Cowboys' and Rogers' best interest to follow the doctor's orders.

You may hate Rogers--fine--but this argument is just flat wrong. Jerry Jones and others, including Marco Rivera, said Rogers was one of the best at working out between his 1st and 2nd seasons.

The big difference this season is that they are not planning on relying on Rogers. They'll most likely get an OT in either FA or the draft that they'll want to compete for the starting RT position.

Unlike last season, they were counting on Rogers and when he went down, that put them in a bit of a pickle. This season they'll be counting on other guys and if Rogers plays well enough to make the squad, that's just a bigger win for Dallas.

I'd like to see him comeback and play well but for some reason I just don't think it will happen.

Me too, and I think with everything thats been said about him then he has got a great incentive to prove everyone wrong - I reckon he could!

you can't argue with Cowboyjoe - facts don't enter into his posts.

I have a lot of doubts about Rogers but at this stage I would have him in camp and if he can earn a spot on the team great if not move on.

exactly -- what's the cost here? Marcus Price's roster spot?

Rogers may not be able to get on the field but he is far more of a pure talent than Petitti or Tucker.

If he had even half of Petitti's toughness he'd be a stud.
