During a week when all the attention has centered on North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, Brissett is one of a handful of intriguing other signal-callers in this draft class. If the two-year starter for the Wolfpack is perturbed about a lack of attention, you certainly wouldn’t know it from his ear-to-ear grin.

“It’s been fun,” Brissett said earlier this week. “Being around a lot of these different guys, getting to know a lot of people, getting to experience the coaching experience from NFL coaches before you’re actually on the team – so you get to learn how things are run. It’s been fun.

After Carson Wentz, the darling of the 2016 Senior Bowl coverage, Jacoby Brissett is the most intriguing upside quarterback of the senior quarterback class. While he didn’t have a strong week of practices or game, Brissett’s sheer size (6'4", 235 lbs), arm talent and Ben Roethlisberger-esque flashes on film will continue to get him second and third looks from NFL evaluators.

The Senior Bowl would have been the best opportunity to establish himself as a top-100 prospect, but he will have other opportunities over the next few months. He should test well at the NFL Scouting Combine in speed drills for a passer of his size, and his interviews should be strong. But it’ll be the individual team workouts in March and April that will truly be indicative of how high he goes. Don’t be surprised if he draws some EJ Manuel comparisons as a late-rising quarterback.

Not sure I consider this a plus.

I always thought it was weird Manuel went from being a 4th rounder to suddenly a 1st. I felt the same about Tim Tebow or Christan Ponder, wham now a bona-fide 1st.

He doesn't get much consideration around here but if we don't take a QB in the first, he is exactly the type of QB i see us targeting in later rounds. Though he isn't close to NFL ready he definitely have enough tools to build on. Worth the gamble if we plan on sitting him for 2 to 3 years.
