Jaelen Phillips

I can't at all see the case to draft Phillips over Ojulari considering everything, regardless of where the pick itself may be.

Is it me or does this guy kinda look like JJ Watt?

Just you. There’s about a 25 lb weight difference between the 2 and their play style is completely different.

But yes, He’s a very good prospect that would be a no doubt top 15 pick had his college career not been derailed temporarily. Clean medical checks and good interviews are the biggest issues for him.

I do like Phillips, but I’m like you in that I’d probably take Ojulari over him.

Ojulari is just so twitchy and is a phenomenal athlete. He also has good character traits in that he never takes a down off and truly seems to love football. He is a little undersized but I think he’d kill it as the LEO in Quinn’s scheme.

I doubt he’s the pick at 10 but honestly, I’d have a hard time being too upset if he is. I think he’s a really nice player at a position that is critical in today’s NFL.

I don’t see the resemblance...

I get that he had concussions early and was fine after getting to Miami but they still scare me.

I like what I’ve heard about his advanced hand usage being similar to the Bosa brothers.

His play reminds me of the Watt brothers. He's the best pure pass rusher in this class. Ya'll better not sleep on Phillips, if he checks out medically, (as expected) he will go much higher than people realize. If we trade back into the late teens/20's he's my top target.
And do be shocked if ol' Jerry throws a monkey in the wrench and picks him at 10. Jerry loves his war daddies. And the publicity he would get for making that gamble is right up his alley.

Testing positive right when they had the pre draft medical checks seemed a little stinky to me. Hopefully any teams interested in him verified that.

Testing positive for what?

He jumps out on these videos.

Besides getting Sewell/Pitts/Slater..

If you want to take a shortcut to getting better on defense quickly then you draft guys like Phillips.

I think the dream for me is moving back for Horn then turning pick 44 into Phillips somehow.

He missed his league medical examination (which I believe includes a drug test) because he tested positive for the coronavirus. There have been some internet rumors from trolls that maybe he faked the positive test because he knew he might fail the drug test part of the medical examination. That seems far fetched but I would guess some teams would definitely check out his story to be sure.

wow, interesting for sure, thanks for the info

Although talented, taking Phillips is very risky, as risky as taking Caleb Farley if not more. He had issues with multiple concussions, he could be out of the league in a hurry or become an elite defender. There is just no way the team can risk it at 10, trade back, yes, but not at 10.
