Whats wrong with that logic? In order to improve you need to find better players. Signing the same guys is status quo. Losing good players is a negative. This is why it takes more than just resigning your own guys to win championships in this league. Losing Lewis still could end up being a good thing, but it would require the Cowboys to go find a better slot corner this offses

If your guy is better than what you can sign then you get better at another position. Lewis is a really good nickle cb and you could have got him a year ago for half what jags gave him. Now you have to use draft capital to replace him since you aren’t likely to get better at CB for less money
