Just read that Saints aren't tendering him, and that they are far apart in contract negotiations. I think making a run at him makes since. Great young OG that would greatly upgrade our Oline vs. Kosier. Then draft a safety and I'm real happy.

In all honesty I'm leery of picking up high-priced o-linemen in free agency. Some times they only fit a certain blocking scheme. Also the players they play with can make them look better than they actually are. Not saying this is the case, but I just don't know.

i know the Romo faithful wanna use plug-ins like its Madden 10 but the truth is you build OLines with drafting and coaching!

the oline of the 90's was considered the greatest thing since slice bread! they were a bunch of misfits b4 92!

The Cowboys may not want to pay what he'll ask for, but he's legitimately one of the better lineman in the NFL. And he's been good for awhile.

He will be tendered that point hasn't gotten here yet.

Saints submit tender offers to 13 free agents

PFW staff, ProFootballWeekly.com Feb 25, 6:31 pm EST

The Saints have announced they made qualifying offers to 13 players who will become restricted free agents when the new league year begins March 5.

DTs Remi Ayodele(notes) and Anthony Hargrove(notes); OTs Jermon Bushrod(notes), Jammal Brown(notes) and Zach Strief(notes); safeties Roman Harper(notes), Chris Reis(notes) and Usama Young(notes); LB Marvin Mitchell(notes); WRs Lance Moore(notes) and Courtney Roby(notes); TE David Thomas(notes); and RB Pierre Thomas(notes) each received one-year tenders.
Terms of the offers were not disclosed.

OG Jahri Evans(notes) was a notable absence from that list of players, but the team is expected to tender him at the highest level at some point before the March 4 deadline for issuing tenders if they are unable work out a long-term deal with him.

Pasquarelli reported via Twitter today that the Saints are closing in on a long term deal with Evans. Payton also said a deal is in the works. Evans isn't going anywhere. He will get whatever he wants.
