I like Sprinkle and Shaheen. Shaheen is possibly a day 2 pick, not sure about Sprinkle.

He is not a good blocker. He is athletic and can really jump which can help him make plays.
He is a willing blocker though, big difference. Rpts on Butt don't exactly rave about his blocking either. If available in the 4th then sure u take him.

This team needs Jimmy Johnson SPEED. Butt to me is Witten lite, I want more out of our next TE instead of the 7yard curl pattern. Miami kid is only 20-21yrs old...just starting to come into his own. I want another Weapon for Dak.

The legend of Jake Butt is getting pretty out of hand...he was a 2nd/early 3rd round prospect in this TE class before the injury. He should go later than that now. He obviously has great size, but he's an above average athlete at best and doesn't block all that well either. Aside from being 6'6 he's pretty ordinary in this class of freak TE's.

He's probably a safe pick as a guy that has a high floor, but his potential is middle of the road starter. Combine that with his injury and I'd say anything before the 4th is too early.

Miami had him blocking in-line which you claimed he wasn't. He was also a tenacious blocker and got after it. I think you tried making the easy correlation of his athleticism = no-blocking without watching actually play because thats not what the game film shows.

Jake Butt was a borderline late first early second rounder before the injury . You don't compare Jake Butt to today Witten, you compare him to the early Witten. Butt is a prototype NFL TE and will be a big receiving threat in this league.

Much rather have the kid out of Miami. I want someone with elite talent running down the field. J Butt looks like Witten looks now, we need mad skills player to go with Dak and Zeke.

I'm with you. Swaim kinds of replicates what Witten does, love to see someone dynamic at that position.

Butt was never going ahead of OJ or Njoku. Or in the 1st round for that matter. And Engram's combine put him in early 2nd round talk. Butt would be debated with Bucky Hodges and Gerald Everett as to who the 4th best TE is.

And You can't just compare someone to Jason Witten by the way. 1st of all, because he's 1 of the 3 best TE's ever and it's just ridiculous to make that comparison for a guy who's never played an NFL snap. And 2nd, because Jason Witten didn't become great becue of his skill set or athletic ability. He became great from sheer effort, grit and hard work few people have in them. Comparing a TE's skill set in 2017 to a young Jason Witten really isn't even that great of a compliment with the way the position has evolved. Not unless you fugue out a way to transplant Witten's brain into them

What I said was 100% factual.

You are right he did play inside, but he isn't considered a good blocker at this point. He sure is athletic though. I think that the Cowboys will draft a solid corner at pick 28 and possibly Butt in the 3rd if he is there.

George Kittle is the TE for us. Can do it all--and actually an excellent blocker

Exactly. Common sense says that no one should compare a rookie to a player who has achieved HOF status. You compare him to Rookie Witten. And Butt was projected a late first. Perfectly said.
