Jake Locker completes Washington career with Holiday Bowl win

The fifth-year senior ran around the Qualcomm Stadium field, with cameras and reporters and photographers following his every move.

“I don’t know what I’m doing right now,” exclaimed Jake Locker, the senior quarterback who just propelled his team, the Washington Huskies, to a 19-7 upset over No. 17 Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl.

He was more than just a little excited. And please, excuse him for showing that playing a game should be fun.

After all, Locker has suffered through a lot of losing with the Huskies.

Washington went 4-9 in his freshman year. The Huskies went winless in his sophomore campaign.

As a junior last year—and in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s first year—the team improved, but still failed to produce a winning season and reach a bowl game.

And that’s why Locker came back for his senior year.

Sure some NFL Draft prognosticators said that Locker could be the No. 1 overall pick if he left as a junior.

I don't think going 5-16 for 56 yards qualifies as a good day throwing the ball.

Ta'amu was dominant the entire game.

My pet cat, Mason Foster, had a decent game. I still say he could be an amazing ILB.

This was actually the first time I watched Locker and I wasn't impressed with him. At the college level, sure, he gets the job done. In an NFL scheme I didn't see Top 10 talent.

I am just pissed that my Huskers played so freaking pooly in this thing. It's a disgrace.

Technically I guess you could say he threw the ball. Most of the time it hit the ground.

I wonder if he's a Commander next year...

It either. He looked awful.

In fact the game itself was awful.

Washington has a poor offensive line and wr's, no TE. Locker is a talent with lots of upside
