If anybody has seen this kid play he can fly! He's only 5'7" but is strong. I know we have Beas and Lucky, but would love to have this kid. He's better than both. He's in the mold of John Brown from Zona, but faster IMO.

I really like him too. I would need to learn about his character and work ethic of course, but he was very good at Tech. He looked fast in their bowl game against an LSU team that is filled with speed. I think that is a good indicator. LSU is big and fast and Grant was excellent in his bowl game. Due to his size, he will probably not be a first two round pick. Maybe not even third round. Although, I think he is a better talent than Lucky and could also return punts. Best case is he can do what Jamison Crowder did for the Commanders this year.

I think Grant has similar type of quickness as Beasley but he has more big play ability.

No substitute for top end speed to stretch a field and we haven't had it in a long time.

I see him possibly in the 3rd, sort of like Lockette from Seattle and Kansas St. He supposedly ran a 4.25 40 in HS.

Maybe if we choose not to bring back Dunbar. As of now, we have 3 players that are similar in stature (Lucky's quite taller at 5'10", but weighs about as much as the others) in Beasley, Dunbar and Whitehead and all contributing mainly from the slot.

I probably wouldn't spend a pick on him (or someone similar to him). I'd definitely take a look at him as a udfa though. Someone like Dri Archer might be an option too. Last I've heard, he's turned down about 10 different offers to join a PS, so GMs must believe that he isn't a total bust yet.

Love the kid, but doubt he'll go any higher than the 6th or 7th and possibly a priority free agent. That said, I'd be the first one on the phone with him after the draft.

Was that in a track meet? If it was hand timed by his coaches, than it really doesn't mean much. Also, players measurables and speed tend to get exaggerated in HS and college.

Not saying that he can't run that fast, but i'd be weary of some of these times they claimed to have run in HS.

Yea, that sounds about right to me.

Of course it was hand timed, but it's still fast. If you saw him play, or just in the bowl game he blew past LSU's best corner like he was standing still.

A lot of these super fast kids playing football also ran track in HS, so it's not so obvious that it was hand timed.

Anyway, there's a long list of small but very fast and productive players in college who's talents don't translate to the next level. I think anything above a 5th is a pretty big gamble, imo.

I'm a fan. The only thing I don't like is that he doesn't have much experience as a punt returner.

I just looked up his stats and he's had 1 punt return for 1yd in 4 years. I'll admit that he could may be able to help as a KR, but seeing as how the NFL has pretty much negated the return game on kickoffs, the true value as a returner is as a punt returner. I'm also good with Lucky as our return guy.

Was going to post a thread about Jakeem soon. Glad you beat me to it. Really want this kid on our team as a ST/Slot weapon in a Darren Sproles mold. He's tiny but electric. Was the most dynamic player on the field every time I watched Tech. I think he winds up going in the 4th to 5th round or so.

You'll probably see some Tavon Austin comparisons, but Grant is not on the same level as Austin. He was a top 10 pick for a reason. He's still a very good weapon in the slot though. He returned kicks at Tech, but not punts, but could see him making the transition in the NFL.

Yeah, he's awesome. The dude's 2nd gear is faster than most players' 5th gear.

I just don't like carrying so many non-physical players on the roster. Adding Grant would give us Beasley, Whitehead, Dunbar, Street, and really Escobar and Hanna. Started the year with Randle as well. Too little was shown by Butler to assess but I got the sense that he was more interested in being pretty.

I'd maybe move him to RB, use him like Dunbar and drop Dunbar. I think Beasley's spot in the offense is firm.

He torched LSU's top CB (a 2nd round mock pick) by 5 yards. He is insanely fast and stocky but realllllly short.

He is also a local kid, from Mesquite, Texas. His Mom is a sweetheart who posts on message boards:)

I honestly don't think I've ever seen someone with that level of body control and speed control. It's like watching a cartoon or something. Amazing.

he will get knocked for small hands and he can drop the ball at times. but he is as big a playmaker as existed outside the Heisman race.

in 2 games versus SEC comp he had 18 catches for 200 yards and tossed a pass that went for a 75 yard TD.
