I had a late 5th round grade on him. Was worried the level of competition he faced...might be a factor. Look who's right once again...

A number of draft pundits liked the pick - and many here at CZ luuved it, and predicted Tolbert to be a rookie success.
Still - the season has just started.....plenty of time for the player to get it together impress the coaching staff to become a contributor.

::sigh::

I don't have a huge problem with a 3rd round pick being inactive the first two games of his career but it does annoy me that it's a WR - especially on this time - who was apparently expected to be awesome.

Man inactive 3rd rounder and cut 5th round DT. It goes to show much talent this front office has acquired that even recent guys can't make it.

:(

You mean the DT that they drafted in the 5th round with the pick that they got in the Amari Cooper trade with the Browns? (rhetorical question) So they basically traded Amari for nothing.

He must not know the playbook. That should be only reason why he is inactive.

I think he will be a bust. Just from the law of averages, they hit on Gallup as a 3rd rounder in 2018. Hard to repeat that again

Unfortunate to me is the poor return on investment of many recent 2nd and 3rd rd picks that most likely won't see a second contract. Or shouldn't.

2nd: Connor Williams-gone
Trysten Hill- gone after this year
Joseph- Still early, jury still out. UDFA Bland is better than him imo.

3rd: Wright - See Joseph above.
Tolbert: - Early, but his impact looks to be avg at best if he ever suits up. The fact that UDFA Houston is getting his snaps is not a good sign.
McGovern: I mean, another avg at best starter who i don't think will be re-signed.

Look, they all could do massive improvement performance leaps. Not totally unheard of. But the possibility that none earn a second contract is just as likely.

Gallup was only a 3rd rounder cuz his grades sucked so bad he had to go to juco then colorado st was the only school to offer him. They were an awful team and he still shined. He played d1 ball with a bad qb even played well against bama. Tolbert aint it

what bothers me is cowboys don’t use sam williams (2nd rounde) & Jalen (3rd rounder). idiots should of just packed the picks for someone else. makes no sense.

Third round pick in what was considered a strong WR class and he’s not even good enough to suit up with this piss poor WR group. What I saw of him in preseason wasn’t very impressive. Granted it’s early but this is not a very good sign. Not a very good sign when your third round pick is a healthy scratch for a second straight week.
