Jalon Walker

FYI Broaddus on with Cavanaugh today said Walker is a fall back option if the draft doesn't fall their way FWIW.

I think JWalker could be a very interesting pick, depending on how they use him, and what they see as his strengths

All these guys that have been mentioned could be Cowboys. The front office is trying to get a lower slot and an extra pick. I believe they are praying all four of the top receiver prospects will be available at 12 so they can trade far down.

If he is there at 12, Jeanty is gone, Graham is gone. Do we dear take him? He had a good game vs Texas LT and was a wrecking crew vs Texas.

He is one of the blue chip players in the draft.
I'm a big Jalon Walker fan, gotta take him if he's there. I think he goes top 10 but someones gonna fall. They can move him around and it would be an instant upgrade for our D.

I think another D guy in the mix would be Will Johnson, instant upgrade to our secondary. Someone's always hurt anyway. Bland would move inside. I like Carson still. This secondary could be insane.

If we trade down for D, I like Jihaad Campbell, gotta upgrade Sanborn at MLB.
I like Barron and Starks and that's about it for what I would be happy with on D day 1.

If Jalon is there, I'd like to use him as trade down bait, but if Dallas took I wouldn't be mad at that either. Walker, Osa, Micah, and Fowler in the Nascar package would be crazy. Eberflus and company was at Georgia pro day, so they would have a plan for Jalon.

Yes, you take Walker without thinking about it. A lot of people parroting the “instincts” talk…I’d love to see some receipts or references of specific games at least. Other than just 1 line in a scouting report you glanced over.
He’s a freak show of an athlete, was the alpha male of the Georgia D, and is by all accounts a high charter kid all around. Yeah I’ll take my chances
His passer rating against in coverage was like 120 and his PFF run D grade was well below average.

If he makes it to 12, which I doubt, I think he will be their pick.
Pairing him and Parsons together for the next 5+ years would give them a dynamic duo of pass rushers. If Sam Williams and Overshown can return to 100% pre-injury and can stay healthy, they will have a bounty of these hybrid DE pass rushing LB's types to rotate in all game long.

IMO, they'd have never signed Osa if they had any intention of running the 3-4.
Yeah we don't really have the DE's for a 3/4, they're all a bit light in the pants. Nor could Mazi be the center of a smaller front. Teams would just line up and shove it down our throats.

I used to be much higher on Walker. I've heard all the negative stuff about him, but in college he looked like player to me.

I am just not sure he is what Dallas needs I'd prefer to get an edge guy that will reliably get containment on those outside runs that kill Dallas.

If we draft him, what position does he play? He can get to the QB. I know on passing downs him and parsons rushing opposite sides of each other would be a dream. But what about in the base defense? Are we sticking with the 4-3?

This is the problem…

On base downs he’s not good off the ball and he’s too small to be effective against the run.

His best bet is a DPR.

I am pretty comfortable saying the Cowboys like Williams over Walker. I don’t see where Walker would play, he is smaller then Micah.
