Jamaal Anderson can't get to the quarterback, but is an excellent run defender. I think he could be a really good 5-technique in the 3-4 and shouldn't cost alot.

I'm not saying give him big money, if you can get him cheap why not give him a shot.

The D Line is already loaded with JAGs.

Alright I'm gonna ask a silly question right now. In all my years of playin football and watching, I never heard the term JAG, yet I see it atleast 10 times everytime I log in here. So someone fill me in.

edit: my first instinct was "just average guys"..thanks for that

And as far as Anderson goes, yes if he comes cheap why not?

Yeah I still am trying to understand what a JAG is. It seems to be 'player that I don't like.'

And jobber I know what the acronym means but the usage is pretty much used for all kinds of players.

They're going to need bodies along the line, definitely not the worst idea i've seen floated around here recently.

if we have the room bring him in for cheap. can always cut him later. who knows maybe the lights suddenly come on.

Oh. It all makes sense now. Thanks Fuzzy.

I don't think the FO is really serious about Holland being the starter. He can't play a whole game without getting hurt, let alone a whole season.

I think the starting RG isn't on the roster right now.

We definitely need one vet safety and one vet OG to fill out the roster.

Yeah, but sometimes a JAG can turn into a pro-bowler....depends how an on who you use the term on. Doesn't happen often, but you never know.

I'm sure even though people see potential in a player, they still may be called a JAG by some people.

Tony Romo, Miles Austin. Seen something there, but took a while and somrting else to happen for them to stick around.

Romo may have very likely would have been cut if not for Quincy Carter failing a drug test. Austin looked good until Roy Williams was injured then he had to start, and never looked back.

If those 2 things didn't happen, would we still have those playes. Maybe but maybe not.

so JAG's or not on a few players.

Nothing wrong what you call a JAG -- you can't have probowl players at every spot

People who use the term "JAG" listen to far too much Randy Galloway and it explains why you guys have the opinions you do.

That's freakish size. 6'6 290. He's never fulfilled his potential but maybe a change of scenery and a new defense can do that for him?

Maybe playing next to Ware and Ratliff can give revitalize his career

I've long thought he could re-invent his career as 3-4 two gapper. Reportedly he's was great against the run for Atlanta, but it's just hard to keep a DE on the field in the 4-3 when he brings absolutely nothing as a pass rusher. Especially when he's making Top 10 draft pick money. I would absolutely take a flier on him. He's still just 25.
