Jameis Winston to Giants

I’m a little surprised the Vikings weren’t interested in Rodgers. I get they have a young QB they invested a first round pick on but he is coming off an injury that cost him his entire rookie season. Would rather go with an experienced vet with the team they have. Rodgers could have put them over the top.

That coach had them at what 14 wins with Darnold at QB . That’s an amazing accomplishment as well .

Dallas saw neither 28 TD’s at QB or 14 wins . I’m glad MM thought so much of himself that he turned down a 3 yr offer to come back.

Arch has two more years of eligibility at Texas. He is going to play his senior season.

Yeah with so little college experience let’s tap the brakes on the Archie Manning rhe grandpa redux coming to a theatre near you comparisons . Give him time to play in Austin .

Perhaps they’ve elected to not be in the ridiculous Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes. The Steelers are embarrassing themselves. Wicked schedule, two of the top NFC teams in their division. An existing connection with the Mannings. I think we can all do the math.
That's not my point. The Giants are going nowhere no matter who they bring in to play QB. All Winston is going to do is give them a slightly worse draft position in 2026.

Not sure all the negative comments. All contracts need to take salary into account. He signed for $4M per year. That isn't starter money and it's just below what Rush signed for. He only hits any incentives if he starts I would think and If he does end up starting because they don't draft a QB or sign/trade for anyone else then theyy use those cap savings next year when they are ready to compete and maybe have Archie Manning.

Is Dallas going to have anyone backing up Prescott that’s better than Winston ? I’ll believe it when I see it . And at 8 mill over 2 yrs this was an affordable contract for any team . When DeVito was your QB on roster anyone is an upgrade .

My negative comments are focused on competing for Manning. The first thing you have to do in order to compete is to have a terrible record. Not bring someone in that can get you slightly above that. But if they draft a QB this year, who cares.

Three more left and probably plays all of them coming out in 2028. That is plenty of time to see if he develops into a franchise QB. Dallas can part ways with Dak at the same time

He throws a lot of picks but has the arm strength to get it downfield to Nabers and Slayton especially in that open aired stadium's windy winter months.

They will probably take Shadeur Sanders at #3 or even offer a bundle to move up to #2 to take Sanders as Winston will serve as the bridge QB this year.
Sanders may or may not start before the season is over.

My opinion.

If he’s the starter he can throw for 5k yards and 35 tds

Issue is it’s going to come with atleast 27 ints and 7 pick 6s

I'm sure it's already been mentioned in this thread, and no I'm not going back to read every post, but I would trade Dak for Winston. JW is far more mobile.

Careers to date:

Dak Prescott: 76-46 record, 66.8 pct passer, 213 TD passes, 82 picks, 98.1 rating
Jameis Winston: 36-51 record, 61.2 pct passer, 154 TD passes, 111 picks, 86.4 rating

Winston once threw 30 interceptions in a single season and we have Cowboys fans wanting him. Dak threw 15 picks in 2022, half of which weren't his fault, and people wanted him run out of town.

Yah I can’t imagine his family would advise him to come out early. The team would have to project to be terrible and their dream scenario of team drafting him would have to also have the top pick.

Lol I love how you casually slip in "half of which weren't his fault".

I knew my post would get someone riled up, so thanks for not letting me down.

By the way, I'm surprised you didn't throw out the '2nd in MVP voting' nonsense. But you can't say that without also acknowledging that JW was the #1 overall QB a few years back.

Truth be told, I don't want either one of them playing for Dallas. But with Dak coming off major injuries yet again and his mobility all but a thing of the past, I would take JW over him in a blink, even with all his INT's. Loyalty to Dak isn't going to get you anything.

Throw all the flashy stats you want out there, but you have to look at who is best for you RIGHT NOW, and that absolutely isn't Dak.
