You know, I just watched the game again and I have to say James didn't impress me. Not to say he had a bad game -- but it wasn't the monster outing that the stats suggest.

He made about half of his tackles on RBs that had already gained a good chunk of yards. A few times the back just ran directly at him (Gordon has zero moves in space).

I agree that it wasn't a monster outing. Hard to give anyone on D credit when they give up over 180yds on the ground.

Oh, I'd give Roy credit.

James was playing like a SS not a 3-4 inside LB.

How many of those tackles were at or near the LOS?

James was chasing down runners all game, why? Because just like Shanle and Fujita, James bites and overreacts to any movement and motion. The one bright spot was when he got himself out of position he was athletic enough to run down the play, while Shanle and Fujita got caught in the wash.

We are in desperate need of LBs if we want to play the 3-4 well.

I must have missed the whole "I am only joking" section of this post. Not to say we have 4 or 5 ray lewis running around at LB, but our guys are making plays, the numbers don't lie. They ain't perfect, but they must be pretty decent, wouldn't you agree?

He is a pretty good example of never writing off a Draft pick way too soon. I.e. like one season, one play, or one game. Sometimes patience is a virtue with draft picks.

Great post. He is indeed turning into a monster type :) Imagine how the d plays next year (barring injury of course) after they have time in the 3-4. Could be purty scary.

No, I wouldn't.

The 3-4 is predicated on your LBs, decent is not good enough.

Numbers do lie. Case in point James had 12 tackles, yet we gave up 181 yards rushing at 5 yards a carry, so which stat is telling the truth?;)

I disagree.

Bill's gameplanwas to play the pass. Bill even said during the game he had no idea Philly would run that much and caught Dallas off guard.

Dallas keep the game with in reach and played big at the end. Im ok with their performance.

How can anyone say our D was average? THe Eagles are an explosive team, even without T.O. They put a lot of points on the board this year.

Our D held them to 13 points if you don't consider the gift Bledsoe gave them.
