Hello, my name is Keystone Heavy, and I am a James Harrison supporter.
And I don't like the way the NFL is headed. I don't like how the league is trying to take contact out of the game. Can't hit a QB below the waist, and can't hit him above the shoulders. And even if you do hit him somewhere in between, there is no guarantee that the official won't throw the flag anymore. Same thing with the defense reciever rules and other personal fouls that just make fans say "you gotta be kidding me!" Yes, I know that they are trying to protect them from injury. But I also believe that there is an assumption of risk when you take some jobs. You don't want a consussion on the job? Then find a job besides pro football. It's getting to the point where the quality of the product is being affected, IMHO.
I don't like how QB stats are becoming more and more inflated every year. This year there are 4 QBs on track to throw 5,000 yards. Thats ridiculous. It seems like the rules are starting to favor the offense more and more. I don't know about you, Mr./Mrs. Reader, but I am getting fed up with the evolution of the game. I'm tired of receivers getting TDs virtually unopposed (due to the current condition of the rules). I'm tired of seeing receivers and running backs put more effort into TD celebrations than they do scoring TDs. I hate how the media constantly romanticize and sensationalize the Quarterback position. I hate how the word team seems to be no longer spelled T-E-A-M, but Q-B. I hate pinning Wins and Losses on QBs like a stat, and the fallacious, lazy, and often nonsensical (See: Jon Gruden. I swear, earlier this year, he said that freaking Matt Schaub needed to take the next step and win a playoff game. Not 2 minutes latter he said that the Texan's needed their pass defense to improve to win a playoff game. Tell me how the heck this makes sense?!) method of analysis that media types insist on using to evaluate the game.
But there is one man that is standing in the way of all this bull****. Despite the efforts of GQ magazine to make him see like a nutt job, he plays on the only way he knows how. People on ESPN or NFLN may want to paint him as a dirty player, but he doesn't care. He has his convictions on how the game of American ****ing Football is suppose to be played, and as God as his witness, that is how he will play it. And he won't let The Man stand in his way. He will hit any offensive player that stands in his way. He doesn't care how much he is fined, or how many games he must sit, because he knows he is right. There is nothing wrong with a defender laying a hit on an offensive player, and he will retire before he admits otherwise.
I don't want Harrison to change. He is the last beacon of hope that the NFL isn't turning into a flag football league. Who is with me?!
