I was reading up on Guyton's injury on DC.com and finally got to Nick Eatman's quote that said Houston was working as a LB and hit a receiver over the middle.

Here's the quote: Newly-signed linebacker James Houston had a nice hit over the middle, taking the wide receiver straight to the ground. - Nick Eatman.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? If true, I'm really excited to hear this news. I think Eberflus can turn Houston into magnificent linebacker.

This could end up being a brilliant move based on the scheme he plans on running.

Didn’t he play Lb in college?

Imagine that, playing a player at the same position they played successfully in college. Wow! We are ahead of the curve.

Give me some hungry, alert, and fast linebackers. Feed 'em glass before games...

He played LB at Florida before going to JSU and Detroit Lions as a DE because of his football ability, and athleticism. Had 16.5 sacks one season at JSU, and had 8 sacks in 12 games with the Lions before injury. But he shined at LB at FL before transferring. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Fort Lauderdale native recorded 37 tackles and a sack his last season. He left UF with 100 stops, including 10.5 for loss (4.5 sacks).

It certainly would be a shot in the arm to the linebacker unit and a great under the radar signing.

I'm aware. I watched him make the switch at Jackson State.

IMO, he'd be the best linebacker on the team not named Overshown. Him paired with DemO would be a really good unit, imo.
