What's the scoop of this guy. I just recently heard about him joining the Cowboys and it seems like a good pickup.

Cowboys had 7 DEs already who knows why they signed Houston. Meanwhile, they seem content at NT.

injuries really derailed his career,i am not sure he makes the team.

At this stage he’s a great rotational guy like Dante Fowler

People keep saying he's a DE. I would like to see him back playing LB on this team.

He's like a missile when he's in pursuit. Closes in on the ball very well from the LB spot.
could he replace the LSU LB I can't think of his name

i don't expect him to make the team ...not near what he use to be .

... if he somehow does make the tam, it would be becuz vet Payton Turner did nothing to cement his spot on the 53 roster

Watch the video Big Dog posted. He's a perfect fit a LB in Eberflus' system. Seek and destroy LB with good instincts. Something we're missing.

I'm telling you. Houston is probably the best LB on this roster. And I really like Sanborn and Liufau. Houston is just a better LB. Can rush the passer but has deficiencies that make him a liability at DE.

But he doesn't have those same deficiencies at LB. Deion only moved him there because they weren't getting enough pressure on the QB.

Houston didn't want to switch because he said Deion was disrespecting his skill set as a LB.

He was kind of right. As a LB, we can still use him to pressure the QB, and he's a better NFL player at LB, IMHO. If this isn't something they try, it'll indicate incompetence.

Houston has really long arms too which is good for an LB in this system.

Houston is a beast on special teams. I think he's just a better player in general, but at LB which is his natural position anyway.

I'd take James Houston all day over Payton Turner.

Payton Turner is a true DE who is needed to stop the run.

He's just not very good at stopping the run though. Houston at LB is a way better run defender than Turner is at DE.

I see most people aren't familiar with James Houston.

I just hope the coaching staff tries to find him a role at LB and ST here.

I'm thinking AA gap blitzing LBer.....I can see a role for him here if that's their thinking. Makes sense. Him and Micah on the inside.....Fowler and EZ on the edges....That could be dangerous.....I like it!!!
