There's a short video on the front page on NFL.com of him being interviewed on Mike McCarthy being hired and it's very positive - with the exception of keeping Kellen Moore on as OC, but only because he strongly believes that Mike likes to call his offense. No slight against Moore, he just believes McCarthy will want to call the offense. Other than that it was all positive about MM, and it makes me feel a lot better about the hire. He did comment briefly on all the negitivity regarding the MM and Aaron Rodgers clashes, but he dismisses it as a bunch of "he said, she said" and this is a typical occurance when a team is losing - but you heard non of it when they were winning. Now this is just one player's opinion, and it's certainly possible he happens to be one of MM guys/favorites/whatever - but it does actually make me feel better about the hire. JJ was a receiver under MM for 8 years and was on the Super Bowl winning team. Go ahead and check out the interview if you want to hear more.

That's encouraging coming from an Aaron Rodgers guy.

Clearly the McCarthy/Moore relationship is critical. McCarthy likes to hold the clipboard and call plays. Gotta believe he would prefer to do so going to a new team.

Yeah I agree. You're right @Risen Star. MM needs to be the play caller for this to have an legitimacy to it. I dont believe KM needs to be fired, but I want to see MM calling the plays.

McCarthy calls the plays on offense and I don't think that will change. I keep hearing he is his own man, so we will see if Jerry agrees.

I'm hoping the thought behind keeping Moore is he'll learn from McCarthy, not run his offense for him. The kid has little experience.

But it's Jerry's World so who knows?

I believe it's been said before..

" you want me to cook the meal..

I need to do the shopping too."

Or something like that.

I am kinda worried if Moore stays. Will there be a power struggle?

Similar to having both marinelli and Richard. Too many voices in the same room can get muddled

I actually did know how to add link, but I didn't know if it was allowed. I'm mostly a lurker and I faintly remember some weird rule around here about what can and cannot be linked, so I just told people where to find it. Thanks to the mod who linked it though.

What I am beginning to like most about the McCarthy hire is that he took an honest look in the mirror and got serious about becoming a better coach for today's game. I think there will be some powerful collaboration between McCarthy and Moore and they will both grow from the experience together. By all accounts McCarthy is a strong leader and Moore may really flourish with this union.

How brilliant was McCarthy's sit down with Peter King? Tailor made for Jones and his Cowboys
