I think Simi is done for the year, he looked promising on trainning camp but had bad luck with injuries.

Tolbert is raw talent, he has a future on this league but the Cowboys are notorius in their slow development of players, I hope they give him a shot next year.
Tolbert will be ready in two years when it’s time for a new contract

Aren't there enough JW threads already? At least too many for the impact he's gonna make once healthy. Why do you care so much about a possible W3 at best?

It's the classic pre-cursor to needing OBJ. Offsetting the argument that we have a decent 3 WR's......but, but, what if one of the 3 get injured all we've got is that Steelers cast off.

If he can’t thrive when he is the 4th option, he brings no value to this team. He should be able to separate and get some great mismatches… he was a deep threat, contested ball guy in Pitt and made some big plays on occasion.

With Lamb, Gallup, and Schultz getting a lot of attention— in theory— Washington should be in a position to hurt teams with big plays.

Of course, in theory, communism works, so yah— we will see whenever he is actually able to get on the field and start building rapport with Dak and Kellen.

Looking at the roster and the future, I don't know if he's even worth the roster spot.

Top 3 WRs are healthy. Turpin gives special teams. Tolbert was drafted high and we have years left on him. And we like our TEs active for the game.

Washington is gone next year. He might bring something of a deep threat we can use. I wish we had more.

Just guessing, but I assume there is some requirement to activate him at least once to the roster or we lose that opportunity for the year. So we activate him as little as possible to keep that option open for injury insurance going into the playoffs.

But I see us going to the Bid Dance with the ones that brung ya. He's a JAG coming back from injury and not practicing all season. A JAG-. He shouldn't be expected to be a real addition like a healthy Odell would be. He's an emergency warm body in case of injury.

Its weird how Brown has disappeared over the course of the season. It looked like he was about to take the next steps of his development, but he and Dak don’t have much chemistry at all

He hasn't gotten as many reps as he was getting early on. But it is sort of weird how he's not as involved in the gameplan as he once was. Maybe he's injured. I haven't looked at the injury list from week to week, so I don't know much about that.

Maybe that's why we haven't seen Washington, though. To my knowledge, he doesn't play ST. But I think he'll end up being part of the offense sooner or later, rotating in on passing situations with Brown in more on running phases.

Agree on Brown, Fehoko, and even Tolbert. At least get Tolbert and Brown involved against the Texans just in case you need them later on. I'm not saying underestimate the Texans. To me, that's the biggest trap game of the season. Because Texans fans live on one single thing as their identity, and that's hating the Dallas Cowboys. They've just never been really good enough to develop any real sort of rivalry for the Cowboys. But to the Texans, there is no bigger rivalry.

This is a good game for us to work on our defensive adjustments with Anthony Brown out, too.

Directly related to Gallup being back.

Still, they aren't running as many 3 WR sets.

But I will say Noah Brown had some really key blocks against the Colts. I mean, at least one I remember was so freakin' beautiful.

I can't remember which TD specifically — we had so many — or even which back it was that he sprung loose. Because I haven't had time to rewatch and analyze the game like I usually do.

All I remember is Noah Brown had a text book block on a defender in position to pursue the ball carrier, and it was probably the best WR block I've ever seen.

And, no, I'm not being facetious.

Anyway, I saw we were short on WR talent early on with Gallup being out. And I was really hoping to see another guy emerge. Thankfully, Noah Brown's experience and time in the league ended up being an asset. But I was really hoping to see Washington, Fehoko, and Tolbert take the next step.

I already know what James Waashington is. He's doesn't have hands like Cee Dee or Gallup, and he isn't always the most graceful player. But he's got some game to him, and you have to account for him, because he can beat you. He's done it to us at least once.

Considering that we play the Texans this week and the Jaguars next, this would be a good two weeks to bring him back against opponents that we should thump anyway. They could be a good way for him to get some game time and assimilate into the offense before we play Philly.

I have not seen anything from Tolbert suggesting he has a future in this league. The dude has looked terrible from the beginning. If he has another equally poor camp next year I think he is off the team.

He’s not a very good player…not sure he offers anything Brown can’t give us.

watch the highlite videos of him...they are impressive....for the life of me, I cannot figure out why this injury has taken so long to heal....something fishy is going on.

My thoughts exactly.

"the Cowboys are notorius in their slow development of players,"

I honestly don't understand this statement. Notorious??

Dak and Elliott tore up the NFL as rookies. Awuzie started as a rookie. Anthony Brown is a 6th round pick that has lasted a long time. Williams started immediately at Left Guard as a rookie. Vander Esch was impressive as a rookie. Malik Collins started as a rookie. Byron Jones, Anthony Hitchens, Trevon Diggs, Micah Parsons, Tyler Smith, Travis Frederick, Demarcus Lawrence, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Tyler Biadasz, etc. The Cowboys developed undrafted players like Steele. This year alone, you have rookies Tyler Smith, Sam Williams, Jake Ferguson, DeRon Bland, Damone Clark, and even unddrafted players like Malik Davis and Peyton Hendershot. What about developing Tony Pollard and Dalton Schultz into players worth of franchise tags?

I simply don't understand how anyone can honestly look at all the players the Cowboys have been successful in developing, and complain about the Cowboys being "notorious" for slow-walking the development of young players. Quite the opposite, the Cowboys have a reputation for developing even undrafted players into significant players, like Miles Austin, Tony Romo, La'el Collins, Terrence Steele. Mid-round players like Hitchens, Barber, Prescott, Schultz, Brown, etc. have been staples in the roster. The Cowboys have developed a plethora of young players into NFL stars, with more Cowboys rookies developing into Pro-Bowl type players than any other team over the past two decades. The issue hasn't been developing players; it has been poor coaching from Dave Campo, Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett.

The notion that the Cowboys don't develop young players is a flat out lie. It's just not true. Only someone who zeroes in on the few guys who fail, and ignores all the successes can be myopic enough to make that statement.
