If we get Irv Smith...Id run victory laps around the neighborhood....my heart would appreciate it(the laps...not the TE)....and so would our QB.(the TE...not the laps.)

If you are banking on our ability to stop the run coming from a single second round pick you may want to brace yourself for disappointment.

As much as we need one and as frustrating as it is that we havent been able to get, pure run stoppers arent that hard to find. I also don't think you throw draft picks at deficiencies and call them fixed.

Maybe come April the run stopping DT is the better player than Irv Smith. But if he isn't and you take Smith (or any other player), there are always other avenues to add talent to the position. Not saying they will, but the opportunities will be there both before and after the draft

Good chance IMO. I think at our pick we will most likely have the 3rd TE on the board available. That should be either Smith or Hockenson

Just draft the best damn players you can find. Preferably ones who can play the trenches, S, LBs.

Considering their use of the te in the running game I'm guessing Smith would not interest them much, even if he was there! If Hockenson makes it past the 1st 10 picks in the 2nd I'd be expecting them to make a hard play to move up for him.
